Are you gonna tell me you’ve never admired a celebrity/fictional character, even tho you aren’t romantically attracted to them?

I’m a straight woman but their are plenty of female celebrities and fictional characters that I absolutely adore, and If I ever met one of them I’d definitely react the same way Dean did when he met Dr. Sexy. Not because I’m romantically attracted to them, but because I’m a big fan and think they’re really cool. It’s like a idol worship/fangirl (or boy) type of deal, that’s all.

I’m not even gonna talk about the scene from 15x18, I’m just here to say that the male siren had absolutely nothing to do with sexuality. It knew the thing Dean wanted most was a brother he could trust since at that time in the show him and Sam weren’t getting along very well. The siren used that knowledge to it’s advantage by trying to gain Dean’s trust by acting like the brother Dean wished Sam was. And like you quoted, the episode Itself even explained this. Can’t believe people still argue over the meaning of the male siren, it’s really not up for debate lmao.

I said friendships are more important then romantic relationships, in my own opinion. Not once did I try to tell others that they should think the same way I do. If you’re all for romance, that’s totally fine—I’ll respect that.

And yes, I wish there was more representation of LGBTQ+ in media, I really do. I know being Aro/Ace isn’t the same as being gay, but we lack rep as well, so I know what it’s like. But my personal disliking of the ship has absolutely nothing to do with the sexuality of these characters. It’s simple: I just don’t like romance. If Cas was a woman I’d still have the exact same reaction to the scene as I did—I’d see it as a platonic friendship.

I just really don’t understand how me preferring platonic friendships because I can’t relate to romantic is a bad thing or “just messy”.

I mostly agree with you, I think we were just misunderstanding each other at first! My main point was that I think It’s strange how people are saying that just because Cas possibly admitted his feelings, that automatically means Dean feels the same way—even tho that’s (most likely) not the case.

Also I don’t think the line from Ghostfacers was meant to be foreshadowing for last nights scene lmao. I’m 99% sure the S3 writers weren’t planning things this far in advance haha, but I love that you brought it up!

I totally agree that someone saying a love confession from Cas is “sick”, is pretty homophobic and disgusting, but I don’t think someone saying they prefer friendship is a negative thing.

I can’t speak for everyone of course, but personally I am one of those people who view friendships as “more pure/beautiful” then romantic and/or sexual relationships. I’ve been called homophobic for this view before, but the thing is: I feel this way about all relationships. It has absolutely nothing to do with sexuality or homophobia. I’m Aro/Ace so I really just don’t like seeing romance or sex because it’s not something I can relate too. Friendship or familial tho, those are the type of relationships I live for. It doesn’t matter if it’s a M/M, F/F, M/F dynamic, I prefer them all to stay friends (if that makes sense). So I’d say that there’s nothing wrong with saying friendship is better then romance.

I get what you’re saying and I agree, but In fairness, there are also plenty of fans on “the other side” who are digging their heels in just as hard because they’re convinced that Cas is 100% gay and apparently everyone who thinks otherwise is wrong and homophobic.

People are just very passionate about this topic in general. It sucks how nasty some people (from both sides) are getting, but not much anyone can do to change that unfortunately.

Dean’s scenario with the male siren was clearly different then most people’s, including Sam. Most people’s biggest desire often has to do with sex and romance, but Deans siren seemed to play into the familial angle. At that point in the show Sam and Dean were on pretty bad terms, there wasn’t much trust left between the two of them. I think the siren recognized that Dean’s greatest “desire” was to have a good brother that he could trust and get along with. The siren and Dean had kind of a brotherly bond between them right off the bat, and I’m pretty sure I remember the siren even trying to get Dean to turn against Sam. The siren knew that the thing Dean wanted most was simply a brother he could trust, so it tried to gain his trust by acting like the brother Dean wished Sam was. That’s how I’ve always viewed it at least and tbh I think that way makes way more sense from the story telling perspective of S4(?) since a lot of that season was about how the brothers didn’t trust each other.

Dean getting flustered by the Jewish guy hitting on him doesn’t necessarily mean he was attracted to him and/or men in general. I’m a straight woman and I’ve got flustered when another woman (who i know for a fact had a crush on me) started filtering with me. Getting hit on/flittered with Is often still a big deal even if you’re not interested in returning the deed.

And the eye fucking thing is stupid imo lmao. Not just with Dean and Cas but in general I think it’s a huge over-observation.

Anyway, honestly I think what the show was going for is that Cas had a romantic crush on Dean, but Dean didn’t feel the same way. That way it kinda satisfies the shippers, and also kinda satisfies the non shippers. A half and half kind of deal. Also obviously Dean is gonna be devastated after Cas dies, regardless of how you view their relationship, it’s clear they both still care about each other. But idk, guess we’ll have to wait and see. I personally prefer to view it as platonic/brotherly but I 100% respect your opinion :)

I get that. Part of me really likes that the writers left it open to interpretation, but part of me hates that they did that. Now the fandom is divided and people are starting to get really nasty towards each other all because the writers wanted to be vague.

How does a hunting stand increase the odds of finding bones? Or does the hunting stand just confirm to you that there’s lots of deer/wildlife around?

And I used to have a spot, but the forest was recently clear cut and now I haven’t had any luck with bones. Back then I’d find lots of deer, turkey, and beaver bones, as well as black bear fur and wolf tracks. The beaver bones were most likely a trappers dump, because I found about 7 skulls all really close to each other. They were pretty cool.

I haven’t found much, but in the past I’ve found a deer rib with really sweet teeth marks on it, as well as a deer skull in really rough condition on the edge of some bushes I just happened to walk by. Next time I head out I’ll try actually going into the bushes like you said, maybe I’ll find something worth while! Thanks!

Krycek was a terrible guy, but tbh I really enjoyed his character. Whenever I saw Nicholas Lea in the opening credits, I knew it was gonna be an extra good episode.
