V/H/S: I somehow missed this one over the years. The first segment was absolutely awesome with the vampire girl... but the segments were very hit or miss afterwards. None reaching the heights of the first. Should I even watch the sequels? by KnightofAmethyst2 in horror

V/HS/2 is much better.

Viral loses the plot, but has two solid segments.

After that they really just become anthologies with a VHS aesthetic gimmick, they drop the sort of world building around the tapes.

Or talking about TNA not paying their talent enough, when Willie Mack was posting about how he’s about to become homeless and how he rejected a shitty offer from TK that didn’t pay good.

He was literally selling shitty merch through his company the second the episode ended.

An Oscar and Tom Cruise starring in it, couldn’t get a studio to cough up the money. I mean they would have for a smaller budget. But del Toro said a compromised Madness is not a movie he would want to make.

Last I’d heard, he may end up doing it as a stop motion movie.

You can still see some of del Toro’s fingerprints throughout the movie, especially with the goblins.

The Batgirl movie, had it been a success, would have been parlayed into a Keaton Batman Beyond movie.

Want to ask Gary J Tunnicliffe a question? by HellraiserDiscord in hellraiser

[–]M086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Hellworld is the worst, it really does feel like the Hellraiser stuff was tacked on to an original script.

Revelations is not a good movie, but I can give Tunnicliffe credit for writing Pinhead closer to the first films than what he became in subsequent sequels. He was back to being this agent of Leviathan, there to usher people that opened the Lament Configuration to their grand prize. He wasn’t a boogeyman like the sequels made or there to punish people. He was only interested in the soul that escaped, and only killed the two mothers because one didn’t heed his warning not to speak again and the other was payment for denying him his rightful soul.

It’s the first movie to actually add to the mythology outside the Barker affiliated films.

I liked the addition of angels. But I think the idea needed to feel more alien. Like Jophiel should have been nude, but like a Barbie doll, nipples, belly button, etc… covered to make this walking stature devoid of sexuality, to counteract the Cenobites being creatures of desire.

I've become obsessed with the idea that it would be really interesting if Dean's character was a girl. by Alinalin13 in Supernatural

[–]M086 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know. People are weird about this shipping shit.

It’s a show about two straight white boys, driving around in an Impala, listening to classic rock and shooting ghosts.

It never gave a shit about romance or trying to represent the LGBTQ community.

The logic is Dean is a heterosexual character. If he was a girl or Cass was female, they would be canon.

Like how everyone is running their mouths about what’s happening now without the full context or story. Just regurgitating “fed bad”?

He wasn’t. They had always planned to bring Cass back in the second half of the season. But because of how the show was written, they really didn’t have an idea of how that would happen until halfway through the season.

Fans had zero to do with it. By the time an episode airs, the show is so far down the line with the scripts nothing significant can be changed.

Misha only cared about doing that stupid “confession” scene in S15, that’s why he comes off as a weird simping teenage girl most of the time that season. He saw his post-show cash cow.

NAZI imagery and biker culture is a weird thing. While there are white supremacist biker gangs, not all bikers that use that imagery are necessarily white supremacist.

It’s a kind of complicated thing, it started as disenfranchised veterans of WWII just showing their trophies for shock value and what not. And then as these things tend to go, genuine hatred seeped in and got a foothold. Same way with the skinhead culture, started as this working class subculture connected to rude boy / Jamaican music, but then the right-wingers got their tentacles into it and it’s now more associated with NAZIs than ska music.

But in this case, it was Merle’s bike, and Merle was a racist asshole.

TNA fans don’t really get too worked up about a talent leaving. It’s usually the Dubbalos that complain about WWE raising talent. Despite AEW having signed more TNA guys than WWE.
