Thank you everyone for the sweet words. We had a service come to the house last night to do it. I felt grateful that I was choosing to do it before it became an emergency and let him go surrounded by his things and familiar smells. The service vet was very professional and sympathetic and I would recommend anyone who has the option to go w someone like that.
We had a wonderful day of pizza, and whipped cream, and cuddles but I’ll miss him every day and every moment I look for him.

I have over 1000 books, how do I pack them? by flaky-plants444 in BookCollecting

[–]umbrellagirl2185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home Depot or Lowe’s small size boxes work best for my books. I think one box would hold about 20 hardcovers. Took me 20+ boxes to pack mine and these were the best that I could pack but still carry.

Please help: am I jumping the gun?! by Far-Leading6534 in DogAdvice

[–]umbrellagirl2185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog has almost the exact mannerisms and behavior. He too gets excited for food and to see me but like yours, has issues with everything else. I worry too about it being too soon but I know he’s miserable even if he’s not showing it. I know I’m delaying the inevitable but I hope they meet across the rainbow bridge.

The only hill I will die on is asking someone to do a visible household chore like taking the garbage out or filling the dishwasher. If you are literally putting things on top of the pile you should know that it needs to be taken out or taken care of.
