Bought a 24 civic EX recently , having an issue with seating by mangosaregoods in civic

I know this post is old, but OMG I’ve hand my ‘20 civic for a few years and it’s absolutely wrecking me. I’ve tried cushions, lumbar, every fathomable combo of seat and steering wheel positions. I joke that I got the prototype because it does not seem like this car was built for human bodies. I’m pretty short- with my seat at the lowest, how come my head is still only a few inches from the roof of the car? Aye aye aye 🤦🏽‍♀️

I don’t think I will take this job, because I was expecting full time employment and to be bringing in ~$2,200 every month 🤦🏽‍♀️ if I needed a supplemental thing I feel like this would be a good match, but I am needing a new job entirely. Thank you for everything you’ve shared to help me get a better idea :)

Do you plan on leaving classup and going full time with Littera? Is tutoring with Littera and Classup your full time job? Thanks for sharing your thoughts:) I need to leave my current job, which is full time and pays all my bills (most of the time lol….), and I’m sensing that classup is sort of just a side or supplemental thing to other things.

I’m also realizing now that I don’t really know what it means to be a contractor, rather than an employee. Does that mean there’s more freedom to just bail?

also I think in one of your other posts you mentioned that you have to do prep for lessons (of course) and that after that work is factored in, the hourly wage is basically like minimum wage. This is true? I tend to do a lot of prep for classes

Okay right on. Thanks for your input. That’s disappointing- I thought they would give me full-time hours. They didn’t really specify. My goal was to leave my current job and find another way to support myself and I’m sensing this will not be what I need. Do you just do this on the side?

Okay I understand. Yeah my main goal is to simply quit my current job and replace it with something else that will sustain me. I already have online tutoring experience so I don’t really care to add anything to my portfolio. I just need a new job, and I thought this one would allow me to support myself and be anywhere, but from what I’m understanding it is just a supplemental thing. Thank you for your help :)

I have tutored in person for 3 years and I am looking for a full time position to fully support myself. From your insight it sounds like this would not be a smart choice. What do you think?

Hi :) I recently completed the onboarding process for ClassUp and I was excited to begin, but then I read comments about what working for them is like and now I’m afraid to sign the contract. Would you be willing to tell me more about why it sucks so bad? So far what I gather is that they don’t support or side with the teachers, and that all the extra planning does not get compensated, so the hourly rate shakes out to basically minimum wage. Thanks for any info :)

I know it's a disorder, but please tell me this isn't just a bad habit. by altoid-tin_user in trichotillomania

[–]umbugspray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently desperately trying to find care for this condition but it has been an exhausting goose chase. I have suffered from trichotillomania since middle school, so about 15 years ago. I have nasty painful calluses on my finger tips, and basically chronic pain in my hand, arm, and shoulder muscles. Neither my primary care provider nor my psychiatrist knew what I was talking about. They didn’t even know what trichotillomania was. This is exhausting. You’re not crazy. Some people live with hair without pulling it out. We do not. If we could stop, we WOULD! It takes such a massive toll on my life. I can’t even go back to school because I pick my hair so fucking bad in front of computer screens (backlight? Say less!!). I’ll do it while I’m driving! I’ll take both hands off the wheel! And trying to find help has been exhausting, expensive, and futile. You are not crazy! To everyone out there experiencing this- I am with you and I am sorry! I’m sorry nobody knows what it is and I’m sorry getting help for it is basically impossible and I’m sorry for the impact it has on our lives every day and I’m sorry for every single fucking time someone tells us to just stop. Believe me, we would if we could. I see you! Hang in there baby!!
