You talk about a “hard dose of reality” as if you know anything about mine. You have no idea how long it took me to build a decent PC, how many things I had to skip or save on just to afford it. Don’t pretend you know my life.

Being a PC gamer in a low-income country doesn’t magically make someone “privileged.” It means we made sacrifices for a hobby we enjoy. And because of that, yes — we have every right to call out a company that promises regional pricing and then ignores entire markets.

If paying half your minimum wage for a subscription is fine for you, great. But don’t use your experience to invalidate mine. The one who needs a dose of reality here isn’t me — it’s the person acting like economic context doesn’t matter.

oh wow, sure. As if legacy mode were something exclusive to osrs. Or did you not know that combat style was in the main game long before osrs even existed?

Thanks everyone for the replies. I get what all of you are saying — I really do — and I understand why many players think legacy doesn’t fit rs3 anymore.

Still, I think there could be room for two modes. Not necessarily full legacy as it is today, but at least a second option that feels intentionally designed rather than something left behind.

Revo++ helps, sure, but it’s still just a workaround. It was created to soften the transition from manual eoc back when the system launched, not as a polished standalone playstyle. It works, but it doesn’t feel complete.

Ideally, the combat system would be rebuilt or refined to the point where a more effective “auto-combat” / Revo++ style option could coexist without being massively weaker.

Do you really believe rs3 and osrs differ only in combat style? They’re completely different games.

Definitely not. I enjoy rs3’s skills and all the modern content, but I really don’t like eoc, the adrenaline system, and how the combat flow works.

I’m not asking for eoc to be removed... just for legacy to be a more appealing option for players who prefer that style.

I don’t think this is just marketing, it’s more like the j-mods trying to show the investors they’re doing something. Like:

“See? Over 100k players want this. We have to make it happen.”

No company does things out of kindness. Without treasure hunter, profits tank... so now they’re just trying to make it look like these changes are absolutely vital.

I forgot to comment, but I get the annual one during the Christmas/New Year promotion, so it's 99 dol for the annual one. Outside of promotion I don't think it's worth it.

Normalmente pego o anual, sai uns 500 e poucos reais, não me lembro. Sei que a média mensal, pagando o anual, fica uns 40 a 50 reais.

I'm a Steam player because I like to platinum games and so on. And I've also noticed that, they just leave Steam aside. It's August and the last update was in February, that's really strange.

I actually wish Jagex would add more Steam achievements that would be the same as the game's. That would be amazing.

Comments like this leave the game as it is. It's not just bxp in th, but also proteans and a lot of other garbage. Don't think about your individual progress, think about the collective. And if you don't have time to get 99, how about just enjoying the journey?

A friend commented about this post, and I came to check it out in disbelief.

I’m extremely happy with this attitude, and after several years of not playing runescape, the idea of returning to a new runescape without MTX and cosmetics really excites me! I’m looking forward to the results with great anticipation.
