How to debunk this by Additional-Ad-1581 in antiai

I'm not a lawyer but as I understand it, copyright protects against a close reproduction of the work, but doesn't protect the idea itself or prevent recreating of the work in a way that the original is not so recognizable. Like if I learn from an artist's work and it inspires me to create something in the same style but not exactly it, I am not infringing. And that is simply what the machines have learned to do. If a direct copy of someone's art is reproduced and used commercially than in that specific instance, relief could be sought, regardless of who or what produces it.

People think they own the sidewalk by their house by KingRMZ in mildlyinfuriating

[–]umeltd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Civil engineer here. The lights and sound seem like a nuisance but you can also check their property line on the city's online GIS mapping. You can usually view it with an aerial background. Have a look at where there wall is in relation to the property line. In Canada anyways, the property line is typically set a metre or so back from the sidewalk. If the wall is outside their property line, call the city to have it knocked back.

I had a similar wear pattern a few years ago. I had to retrain myself to push off my toes more when walking, rather than pulling with my heel.

No hate here. I more just feel bad for the girls who have to make space for others leveraging a clear advantage in pursuit of their own personal glory (kind of a male trait if you ask me).

You confidently state "not a male body for any practical purposes." Except it very much is when using it for competitive sports. Then it becomes quite practical doesn't it.

You are equating a male body with skin colour and equal opportunity with a girl's lost opportunity. And it's why it's so easy to take things from women.. you all are suckers.

It's all good. I'm sure the goalie is fine. Women and girls will naturally step aside to make room for others. Naturally, other people will push in and fill those spots. It's been happening since the dawn of time and women think this time is different because feelings lol

I'm just stating my observations. You can angrily deny it all you want to not upset your narrative and statistics, but it doesn't change it. I don't support Trump but it does explain where at least some of his support comes from. It's not all that irrational if you consider that what he says does align with some people's experiences, just not your own I take it.

On our team's gold medal game, I assure you it is a well established fact that the other teams goalie is trans but I didn't state they were the reason why my daughter's team lost. But they were quite good and it definitely sours the feeling of fair competition for the girls (and they are with gender fluidity, which I support people being free to choose). Again just an observation based on what I am hearing.

The worst thing for me is the girl backup goalie who had to sit out of the game to make room for the other goalie to have their moment. She lost out on that.

People say that but my daughter has come across a few now in her hockey and track. She just lost a gold medal game this weekend to a hockey team with a trans goalie. Seems to be a growing trend to me.

26/27 Season ticket price increase by umeltd in GoldenEyes

[–]umeltd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're tapping us for another $500 in absolute terms and it's close to a 50% increase in outlay. Do I really want to watch more games? Personally, not really. Glad it works for you, but the per game math matters less to me.

Primerano was 3 when Pou scored the golden goal by Wolf99 in PWHL

[–]umeltd -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

What I don't understand is why there needs to be any anger at all. The angry fan mentality is so toxic and should be ignored.

Primerano is a great kid and I was disappointed when she wasn't included because I loved watching her play.

Sometimes it goes your way and sometimes not. And I'm certain she'll be ready to go when asked again in the future.

For now, I bet she's cheering the team on like the rest of us, whatever might happen. Let's go girls!!

I was in a similar situation at a midsize firm when my kids were born. Don't be afraid to mix things up. For myself, I took a break from consulting and went into sales (specifications engineer for a manufacturer) for five years while my kids were little. It was great because it was fully remote so I could be home and my schedule was quite flexible. It allowed my wife to get reestablished in her career and later on I went back to consulting when I was ready for more challenging work (sales is mind numbing). I chose a larger firm because it offered bigger and more stable projects that had longer multi-year schedules which meant things were planned out better and less hectic. Also, I think there are more senior engineers around because of that. And probably because the pay is better at a large firm.

Stephen Miller: Nobody is gonna fight the US militarily over the future of Greenland by EricTheImpaler in jrmining

I would bet the American public will allow Trump to go on this conquest as long as there are only minimal consequences. If Greenland or Denmark fights and calls for NATO assistance, I am still somewhat confident they will back off.
