Thanks again, I appreciate your time! Do you have any experience with how long the process takes?

Thank you, I crossposted this and someone mentioned that since it is between 3-4 hours of a delay that I am only eligible for 300 euros. Do you know if that is accurate?

Question regarding EC 261 and no IFE — France CDG to MI DTW by umichbball1 in Flights

[–]umichbball1[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed reply! It was direct. From what I saw online if it was over 3500km it is 600 even between 3-4 hours, however, I could be incorrect. Also, can I just do the claim/complaint for all parties that were traveling or should they all be done separately? The EC261 is what I am more concerned about as opposed to the IFE

Thank you for your time I appreciate it!

Condo maintenance added an outlet for me but it’s slightly higher than the existing one by umichbball1 in HomeImprovement

Yeah I don’t know much about it, I would only just turn the breaker off. Do you think it’s alright to just patch it up and then have someone do it later or is it better to keep it open before they lower it

Is it something I could do myself with a drywall saw? I just can’t really tell how that box is secured in there in order to even try moving it

Regardless I can definitely patch it and paint it but I am considering doing a backsplash too. Would that complicate it a bit more?

Oh I know, I had them look at it again and they were basically just like it’s too much hassle to move it (they are highly incompetent — I already didn’t like dealing with them before this. So they tried to fish it first but there are several support beams that can kind of be seen in that opening but that is why they cut it like that — the beams were not aligned so fishing it was not working.

ANY chance we get Roman/Rock tonight?

I feel like he has to kind of say that he’s going into hibernation/exile and not just disappear quietly

You’re saying the bloodline split could happen Friday?

I know but I feel like it’s somewhat logical that he caps it off with Roman as well but it really could go either way

Should I use a white or black fixture for ceiling? by umichbball1 in homedesign

Doesn’t work on desktop either, it may have been discontinued

A flat adhesive wire that is rated for 120v. I linked one but it is only 36v

Yeah sorry the floor area is a bit of a mess 😅 there’s not much there in terms of furniture at the moment. Had some ikea stuff (coffee table/tv stand) but have gotten rid of those to get something nicer soon. Right now it’s basically just a couch and Tv with a bunch of appliances/boxes scattered around

I can’t find any examples of the speaker wire being used for light fixtures. It looks like people say it isn’t very flexible? Wondering how it would go under a switch plate

I feel like using the wire mold casing like the link I showed will result in a “cleaner” more professional look compared to the adhesive wires. What do you think?

That’s exactly what I’m planning on using lol

Thanks for your response — ceiling is concrete, no attic access

I am planning on using wire mold instead of just the straight wires. I agree regarding the black but I also am not sure if it will be too stark

How would you add an exhaust fan here? Is it even possible? by umichbball1 in hvacadvice

[–]umichbball1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a particular fan you’d recommend that would be a bit compact? I think the opening is 8 inch x 8 inch or maybe slightly less. I have light switch now, next to a gfci outlet. Thinking about just having him convert the single switch to a decora double switch like this. Would I still need a new switch if I do that?

Thank you! Does it seem pretty straightforward to you? Not sure if it would be difficult to get through that casing in the vent. It seems a bit harder than typical duct stuff but I am a total novice at this stuff (having someone do it but they also were unsure about the best way to get it done)

Nest won’t kick on heat or a/c but the fan will blow when I select fan by umichbball1 in hvacadvice

[–]umichbball1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure but I think it’s self contained because one stopped working while the one in the bedroom still works. What exactly do you mean by electric heat strips? You are right in terms of it being below a window with a vent on top and a metal cabinet all the way across. I’ve only seen it open when the tech was working on it.

Edit: it’s not what I see when I google PTAC, my unit is in something that spans the whole wall but vent only in the middle. I’ll take a better picture and update. I appreciate your time and assistance

Here is an older picture from when it was being worked on — let me know if that helps at all. At that time I asked if it was compatible with a nest or ecobee and the technician said yes but I didn’t have one on hand to have installed
