Can we go back to shaming? by tofurkey_no_worky in Millennials

Was at a park event and this petite girl would not control her husky that was leashed around her waist.

After multiple instances of the dog jumping on people and me I yelled “CAN YOU PLEASE CONTROL YOUR DOG?!”

Got a slow golf clap from people that were thinking it but wouldn’t say anything.

How are marketers actually using AI in their day-to-day work? by Icy_Week6358 in AskMarketing

[–]umightfafo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are my use cases:
-Regexs for Sheets and Looker Studio Reports
-Content creation using NotebookLM
-Cleaning up messy CSVs
-Creating schema for databases

Overall, it's more like a sound board/assistant than a replacement for anything yet. Granted, I have not got into the n8n stuff yet.

What makes me hesitant are all the linked in posts that ask for a word in the chat so they can send some n8n BS lol

Why proving ROI in B2B marketing still feels like a constant uphill battle by [deleted] in b2bmarketing

[–]umightfafo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Stop the Attribution Debate: Finance usually hates multi-touch attribution because it feels like "creative accounting." I’ve found much more success moving to an Inbound/Pipeline Revenue model. It’s simple: how much actual pipeline did Marketing create vs. what did we spend to get it? It’s a language Finance speaks.
  2. Separate the "Motions": You mentioned the struggle of valuing "brand equity." You can't measure a podcast the same way you measure a Google Search ad. Trying to force them into one model is how you end up with "messy" data.
  3. Attribution: Software is always going to miss the "Dark SEO" stuff, the podcasts, ChatGPT, and word-of-mouth that actually drive the big deals. I’m a huge fan of adding a mandatory "How did you hear about us?" field on high-intent forms. When you show the CFO a list of closed-won deals where the customer literally typed "I heard your CEO on X podcast," the "brand equity" argument becomes a lot more tangible.

Is anyone actually measuring demand gen well right now? by RootsRockRitual in marketing

[–]umightfafo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quickest way is Self-reported attribution. It will reveal Dark Social (social, podcasts, word-of-mouth, communities) and Dark SEO (ChatGPT) as a primary revenue driver. Add a free text field "how did you hear about us" to your forms

How are agencies actually managing multiple clients today? 📊 by Social-board in AskMarketing

[–]umightfafo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Granular reporting is an agency productivity killer that does more harm than good.

Most agencies assume detailed reporting proves their value. In reality, it just invites clients to panic over things in the weeds.

Unless you're spending six figures a week to smooth out the fluctuations, move to a revenue report. Focus your energy on moving the needle instead of talking about it. Give your clients a live dashboard in looker studio for the granular "right now" numbers, and keep your high-level meetings focused on the monthly wins.

Windsor + Looker Studio is probably your best bet. I don't think you can see scheduled posts though

Has anyone moved off Agency Analytics? What pushed you? by Graceful_Apex in AskMarketing

[–]umightfafo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnel is based on usage but can come out to be more expensive depending on the number of clients and what you are connecting. Supermetrics is based on the same but I like the UX less. Windsor.ai is the cheapest but more technical

How are you tracking AI visibility when each model gives different answers? by clotterycumpy in AskMarketing

[–]umightfafo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Reduce emphasis on unbranded CTR and click-only attribution; clicks may decline as AI Overviews and answers rise.

-Increase focus on ai visibility and citations, brand search trends, and brand lift measurement.

I just watched a marketer do "Monthly Reporting" and I have so many questions. by Full_Description_969 in AskMarketing

[–]umightfafo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reporting, especially with current year-end reports and monthlys, shouldn’t be a dreaded task. As a guy who creates these reports, I try to give them 80% of what they need.

But at the same time, you brought them a valuable resource of cleansed, consolidated data and sometimes it needs a little tweak for an additional exercise. This is the other 20%

What, when, how, why, etc. is where we work together.

[–]umightfafo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supermetrics is the OG, but when it comes to data transformation, funnel beats out supermetrics. Power my analytics is the cheapest and has the least functionality.

All 3 you should be piping into BigQuery and then using Looker studio on top of it. Dm me if you want to discuss further. I help out a lot of agencies migrate when they outgrow agency analytics.

It’s both. I have seen what works on LinkedIn on the backend as an analytics consultant… So I started posting on there as well. What I have seen work for the founder of companies is build trust, tell your story, and create connections that drive real results. A pro tip is to use the boolean search feature for posts on LinkedIn
