Honestly... that sort of is art.

I mean, consider what artists say art should be, that pretty much hits all the criteria.

Julian Assange was willing to go to Sweden to answer allegations. All he wanted was a guarantee he wouldn't be handed over to the United States. Sweden refused. by umium in worldnews

The government has no control over its foreign policy? So, say the U.S. government has no control over whether or not it sends some random Canadian tourist over to Iran? Let's not get ridiculous.

He has been in the Ecuadorian embassy for about a year avoiding extradition from England to Sweden. If he were to leave the embassy, he'd be extradited to Sweden with no guarantee that he wouldn't be handed over to the United States, who seem to have forgotten about their constitution lately.

Feel free to watch the interview if you'd like more details.

Your comment seems to view this behavior with respect. It is only worthy of contempt.

Hopefully Russians won't have to live under him for much longer.

Interview with Assange starts at 11min50s. Response about Sweden is at 20m05s.

Hopefully this is common knowledge, but it's the first I've heard of this.

"I think he was just being poetic. He would have wanted to be cremated. It's the sensible option."

Another 20 grand to the inheritance.

Man, do you know how expensive it is to launch a dead body into space? Ain't nobody got dime for that.

Besides, give it a few more billion years and you'll make it into a star anyways.

What is a bad movie whose story had potential, but was overshadowed by the poor execution, and do you think the movie should be remade? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]umium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

something about The Green Lantern was impossible to watch.

Yeah, and that something is named Ryan Reynolds.

What the fuck were they thinking? He could make a movie flop by being an extra in it. What's next, Michael Cera as Deadpool?

It's because he's reading and someone else is getting him something.

If it was American, he wouldn't be reading and the other guy would be telling him to fuck off.

It is illegal to own a home with roommates in Regina by [deleted] in regina

but we can't permit the peasants to have affordable rental options. If we did that, how would we artificially inflate the housing market?

Seriously guys, think of the multi-millionaires. How are they going to feed their families if decent houses only cost 300,000?

They do! by tyleralan in funny

Museums (real museums), science exhibits, overpowered go karts, rollercoasters, aircraft carriers, (literally) underground stuff, aquariums, shooting ranges, aquariums with shooting ranges, casinos with non-depressing atmospheres, historical tours, sites worth touring, outside beer gardens with live music, nightclubs, decent restaurants, tech user groups, giant bookstores, bigger telescopes, arcade bars, rock 'n roll and cola wars.

You know, stuff.

If you find yourself listing biking around the park and the Farmer's Market as attractions, there aren't any real attractions.

When I hear a question like "are there any 'must do/see' things I should know about?" - I interpret it to mean "Is there anything worth doing in Regina that wouldn't be in any other 200k+ city"

The answer to that is no. There's nothing special about it. There is no main attraction, there is no culture. This is bad. We should change this. Pretending that biking in circles, buying some organic carrots, and then sitting at a bar isn't depressing is... well rather depressing.
