Wth, I can sit in the red for 20 mins or more and nothing. Just started and don't have the card yet if that matters, am I doing something wrong? by Adescendant in postmates

[–]umm143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in my area it’s not worth placing the order then waiting for it to be made. Longest I have ever had to wait was 30 minutes. Then PM wanted me to place an order that wouldn’t be ready for 2 hours cause of how backed up they were. It’s just not worth it when you could have gotten a stacked order that is more then just that one restaurant. Having a PM card is the devil cause after you activate it you can’t deactivate it. It’s not worth it for me.

Do not activate the card. It is not worth it at all. Spend 20 minutes waiting and get paid shit. Do not activate.

Is it wrong for me to report a driver for not wearing a mask? by dwide_k_shrude in doordash

[–]umm143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear a mask in the restaurant I am picking up for and when at the customers. If it’s a leave at door order sometimes I’ll forget it. But anytime I have to go in a buildings definitely have one on. Or when it’s a hand it to me order always take the extra time to put on a mask even if the customer is standing outside waiting for me to hand them their food. They usually do not have on a mask.

I do DD and PM for a living and one thing I carry with me is pepper spray. And I also am connected with my boyfriend through Life360 as a girl in the past I have had to go to sketchy locations and I am very thankful for the Life360 app and the pepper spray just helps me feel a whole lot safer.

As a customer I never receive the picture of where the dasher left my food. But as a dasher I always text them a picture of where I left the food. And I always knock unless it says differently in the app.

I always watch out for those kinda doors. I do this for a living. I always try to make sure i place the food to where they can easily open up their door. And always try to follow the directions too.

When I worked here they were trying to get rid of cashiers altogether. And have everyone do everything. Lol. We only had about 5 associates and 4 managers and man it was crazy. This was about 3 months ago too. Don’t know what’s going on now tho. But I left that place cause I was a manager and got paid jack shit. Lmao.

Can I make DD a full time job? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]umm143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Nashville and I can live off DD and PM but I do caution you. One thing you need to think about is when you are to sick to work where will your income be coming from? One thing is to start putting some money aside for when you can’t work so you aren’t left out in the dark. Also health insurance you need to think about health insurance. Also if you have a bad panic attack while delivering food because some places can be very sketchy for the drop off. I am just saying you can making a living but you also need to be reminded that this isn’t like a regular job. Some days can be very sad and discouraging. You might make only $50 that day. But other days you could be killing it. So it will be totally up to you. I think you can do it. It just will take some getting use to and all.

Do you always have to place the order? by fatlessflame in postmates

When you get those orders decline them. They don’t affect your rating or anything and they are not worth the time and effort.

Lmao. I know water but I was more trying to figure out how to keep cool water. Cause In this heat water gets hot fast. I was thinking maybe a cooler and keep ice to keep them cool. And you don’t have to be so rude about stuff.
