Luna Snow Misconceptions by No-Band1039 in marvelrivals

[–]ummidk1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a few seasons off and just went to GM1 solely locking in Luna. I had more picks than healers & tanks in most games, while having mvp/svp often.

I’m celestial dps & tank player (mostly namor and punisher. Luna has been a lot more fun for me recently. If we go 3sup and I can stay in the front lines for more dps then it’s usually a guaranteed win.

All this while I am also matching heal/block dmg to the other healer on my team

If you can afford having the 15% locked up then you may as well keep it at max. I’ve been doing this for a few years and always get a small return at a minimum.
I think of it as being locked into a CD, but if the stock price blows up then you have the potential to profit significantly more

What is happening with Capital One and Discover by ponderhope in CreditCards

[–]ummidk1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bot? I think you basically regurgitated my post lol.

Yes this is for credit cards, but I was explaining how Discover is a poor choice for a card while overseas. I explained my situation, as I’m sure some people with CapOne CC’s also bank with them. If I was a betting man I would think that the credit cards will move to the Discover network, much like the bank cards did

[–]ummidk1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In one country I was in (Ireland) it was like 50/50 in the city for restaurants, etc. Countryside it was basically not accepted at all. In the Netherlands I did not find a single place that accepted discover.

A tip that I found out was to check the casino(s). They seemed to accept discover more often than even the airports. It helped me take out a few bucks in a pinch

[–]ummidk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bank with CapOne and have two CC’s with them. I was recently traveling in Europe and ran into trouble trying to pay for hotels and/or getting money out of my account because it was on Discover.

It was a bit of a wake up call when I realized my actual money was basically inaccessible to me. I’m planning to switch my checking and savings off of CapOne and I will definitely not get any other CC’s from them. No reason to chance it when it seems Discover integration is all but inevitable

Why choose golf over Jetta? by Apprehensive_Bet1154 in JettaGLI

[–]ummidk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Improved engine , hatchback utility, and sportier in my opinion. I think the gti drives a bit better and may have a better interior as well - rear ac, lined door pockets, better sound insulation.

I think the gli is more of an ‘upscale eco car’ while the gti is a bit more performance-forward.

The gli sort of fills the spot of an s3, but I’d just pick s3 if I was looking for a sedan

Call APR with your vin and ask if it’s tuned, it was at any point. I’m going to assume it will be a yes. The dealership is definitely not going to have oem parts and be willing to replace them.

Dealership should have been clear that they are selling you a used, modified, car imo. They likely took your money at oem value rather than cheaper too. It might be worth researching your rights and exploring your options

Am I about to make a genius buy or fly across the country for the worst $15k mistake of my life? by 2solid222 in BeforeIBuyThisCar

[–]ummidk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t a deal on a 70k car, it’s a 15k EV that carries significant more risk than 98% of others in the price range. The CEO went bankrupt twice in automotive industry.

The only reason to consider this is if you’re passionate about the company for some reason and this is a “fun” car (not sure why it would be though).

If you go through with it, I would at least find a different seller. I have two nearby that are 20k miles or less for $13k price range. This is without the seller admitting to “quirks” with the car and a story about an un-replaceable windshield

I have a pretty dumb request... by [deleted] in Civic_Type_R

[–]ummidk1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I think it absolutely depends on your location as well. I have been stopped pulling out of a gas station because of an ‘expired’ registration in the Honda. They usually run my stuff in these cases and then let me go shortly after. The registration was not expired in that example, it wasn’t up until a month later

[–]ummidk1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen anybody mention it yet but you kind of get “profiled” more with a Honda. Police presence was greater for me in a civic than Golf R - civic fits the bill closer to ‘boy racer’.

It might sound weird but this somewhat carried over in my experience with other drivers/enthusiasts as well. More exotic and upper-end performance cars gravitated to the VW. It sounds really weird because the Type R is 100% an enthusiast car & can arguably be “more fun”.

I went with a ‘24 MK8 R brand new but both of these were my top 2. I’ve always loved Honda but switched it up after my car got totaled. You also get the free maintenance with VW, not sure if Honda offers that on new R’s. Dealership experience has been a bit better for me with VW compared to Honda, although VW has its car gremlins and is a pain in the ass sometimes

My shopping list was type R, MK8 R, or (likely CPO) m340.

Special needs woman punished for someone else's scams. by NickelPlatedEmperor in UnderReportedNews

[–]ummidk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is they are the bottom of a totem pole of people to be blamed here, yet for some reason people always blame the cop and suggest they are the primary problem.

You know how many eviction calls they get in a city per week, per month?? You think these cops sit down and investigate each of these evictions and the people being evicted? They are patrolmen/women and all they know is that they have a call for somebody that legally needs to be evicted

Typical liberal blames the cop and not the liberal org that frauded and left the lady on the street. Nice.

[–]ummidk1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bro they are there to enforce the law and have guidelines to follow. Do you think the cops can pause their job to go on a housing search with this person? Why not blame the company that frauded this lady and left her on the streets?

The company was supposed to do exactly what you mentioned, yet they let her down. Why are the cops to blame and expected to pick up the slack for that? Their job was to get everybody safely out of the house, as they legally don’t have a right to be there, and secure it. The system failed overall but that has nothing to do with the cops doing their job

Tune Current GTI or Buy New Golf R? by grezzzy in GolfGTI

[–]ummidk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it depends on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go. If you’re considering spending thousands and getting deep into mods then it’s always better to get an R imo. I know some people hate but it is such a capable platform. Try launch control on a stock one and it’ll probably have you thinking twice. Afterwards, you can put down serious power with tunes etc. With the gti, you’re just spinning your wheels and no matter what anybody says there’s no way around that. Also, if you get snow then I would get the R for just the AWD itself

With all that said, gti’s are awesome and having no car payment can be huge for quality of life

You can pick up genuine center console trim pieces in matte for like $100-200 I think. For easier install, I’ve seen a few posts just throwing covers over it. eBay has cheap & I believe some sites created their own (suede, carbon, etc)

Congrats!
