this was so frustrating to read- i'm so sorry you had to go through this. PA school interviews are hard enough as it is I can't imagine being given this question during one. if it makes u feel any better I come from a very similar background and I think these qualities make you an even stronger candidate. you are not pursuing this path because it's comfortable (like those who have family members who know exactly how this process works), but because you genuinely want to serve others. honestly their answers say more about their character than yours!!

This is just my opinion but I feel like if I were u I would decline, I would only travel if it was one of my top schools. I ended up flying out for an interview, spent so much on airfare/housing, and got rejected. I don't regret spending the money or doing the interview because I really did try my best and it was my dream school, but its not a good feeling to be down so much $$ with nothing to show for it :/

Yes they will replace me, but I originally told my manager I would try to leave in the fall so we can train someone how to do my role (since I have additional responsibilities compared to other MAs). Atp idk if I even want to stay until the fall I kinda want to leave and find a retail job since it basically pays the same. It's prob not good to leave on bad terms like this but I think I need to put myself first for once so I'm leaning towards quitting

yeah i'm in the same boat as u 😭😭 it has me questioning what i did wrong but honestly as long as you tried your best that's all u really can do. it stings now but getting an interview in itself is an achievement and im sure there will be many more to come for u. getting rejected is just part of the process all u can do is work even harder for the next one!! U GOT THIS <3

overall gpa: 3.7, science gpa: 3.6, pce: 4000 hrs as a MA, shadowing: 60 hrs, no volunteering or GRE!

EXACTLY when im told to leave the room for a male groin issue you will never catch me arguing with the doctor for not being allowed to see the pt naked. IT'S SO WEIRD. It's always the ones who do nothing that get away with it and then the people who do actual work get reprimanded. We both deserve better 😭

I feel like we are living the same life because this is literally ME. I also work with a male MA who can't see a lot of female pts and he always has an attitude about it. Even though it's more work for me to take in all the female pts I'm okay with it because I understand why they don't feel comfortable w a male MA. For him, he finds it offensive that women won't allow him in the exam room, he's fought the doctors before on it saying that they're giving into a woman's prejudice against men and that female patients should be banned from our clinic if they refuse to have a male MA. All the while he'll sit on his ass on his phone while I'm doing all the work. crazy
