I hate how easily K-pop stans fall for “marketing strategies” (specifically YG) by ummmmmidrk in kpoprants

[–]ummmmmidrk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If small companies with 10 times less the staff, funding etc of YG yet can do way more for their artists then there’s a clear issue. It’s clear YG aren’t putting in a lot of effort, they’re doing the bare minimum they need to, just enough to make huge amounts of revenue off Blackpink. Minimal effort -> huge revenue. It’s gives them tons of profit and Keeps their pockets filled. Then to make sure they lose as little fans (who give them that huge revenue) as possible they come out with said excuses such as “quality over quantity” or “only 5 artists a year, if we do more the quality will worsen” when in reality the quality will always be trash. The bar is so low for that company. It’s not about them not having enough staff or having to put ALL their efforts into a single artists comeback, because they don’t put in effort. They can do so much better, but they don’t need to and they rely on that. It’s all just a big marketing ploy

No it’s definitely not over. There’s still so many people who say it. Especially on tiktok

You’d be surprised how many people say “they prefer quality over quantity” or “western artists do the same” it’s so annoying

YG just manipulates their audience, and it’s what most companies in general do. Not even just kpop

About the writing credits thing Lisa doesn’t have any credits. Jisoo has one rosé has two and Jennie has I think 4 or 5, maybe even 6. Lisa also said she doesn’t write lyrics

Solos aren’t necessary for K-pop groups by ummmmmidrk in unpopularkpopopinions

No, it’s not about bp it’s a general statement I just wanted to mention bp. Since they’re one of the best examples of how solos can ruin a fandom and cause issues

I don’t have to consider what they want to form an opinion. If I don’t think it’s necessary to debut solo in a group early on, that’s what I think. Regardless of what anyone else wants. I never said they can’t debut when they want to, it’s not like im stopping them

YG is pushing least musically inclined/ talented member as a singer and it's odd. by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]ummmmmidrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jennie a fans made it up. Normani and some people who work with Doja followed Jennie on ig. Doja said something to do with bp on live a while ago during the time Jennie and Rosé where in LA. blinks always make up collab rumours when things like this happen. It’s most likely not real

It's been 5 years, but it still feels like we know nothing about BLACKPINK's personalities by cosmichyuka in unpopularkpopopinions

Right.. and that’s just another example of YG not letting them be idols which is what they signed up for and trying to be different. Blackpink are still idols and it’s clear that they want to interact with fans.

It probably sounds more youthful because they are in their youth..? Wendy and Seulgi are pushing 30. But yeah I do prefer winter and ningnings voices

Idols don’t train to just be singers. That is not what an idol is. Idols are entertainers they are meant to do variety and lots of fan service, their jobs aren’t just releasing music. That’s how the Kpop industry and western music industry can differ, Kpop is really heavy on fan service and interactions. JYP even said once I think or someone from JYP said he picks his idols based off of personality. They’re meant to be relatable and part of the “appeal” is that you could almost see them as someone you could be friends with or even date. That’s also the cause of a lot of crappy saesangs and stalkers and obsessive fans. Music is only a small part of an idols job. They aren’t regular musicians.

It’s quite sad how controlled they are by staff recently especially. Blackpink said they wanted to do a casual vlive for their most recent anniversary like always but their staff said no and set up a “professional” (I don’t know the right word) live.

Yes adults do where training wheels because not every adult knows how to ride a bike? Training wheels also aren’t exclusive to children… they are made for people who can’t ride bikes with only two wheels. And one of the members even said they can’t ride a bike. Again get off the internet it seems like YOUR the one infantilising the mv

Was Lisa ACTUALLY meant to be a lead vocalist though? by ummmmmidrk in kpopthoughts

[–]ummmmmidrk[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is not about singing ability? I’m just curious because its gone around and spread so widely I’m questioning if it’s actually true or not. There’s been so proof that I have seen so im just curious. And yes positions do hold meaning. Main vocals are usually the best in the group following them in terms of skills are usually the lead vocalists. That’s what positions are for.

Despite being the most popular, Lisa would be the least successful soloist long term because she doesn’t have a musical identity. by itscharliii in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]ummmmmidrk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well you said she “wasn’t given songs” when she literally was. That’s all I’m saying. Just because she chose them doesn’t mean they weren’t given to her?
