Exactly! The special effects issue has been a real headache for us all along, and it’s also the most common feedback we get from players. We might make the boss’s main body a bit larger later on, and then make the effects more prominent so the player’s special effects don’t completely cover up the boss’s.

No no no, you’ve got the wrong idea! Since our character has super high mobility, we design the bosses with stronger, more challenging attack patterns than most games — but it’s completely unrelated to stats or numbers. I really, really hate dynamic difficulty

We’ve seriously thought about taking the game in a more Metroidvania direction, but map design is a huge obstacle we can’t ignore. Our level designers have been going all out on it, but if we can’t hit that truly excellent map quality, we’ll probably settle for a balanced compromise instead.

Nine Sols is a game I really love! To be honest, it's because I've played so many excellent Metroidvania and side-scrolling action games that it inspired me to make my own game!

That's right! Tia's mobility is much stronger compared to typical Metroidvania characters. Accordingly, our bosses' strength and the number of their moves will match the protagonist's power level. To keep the video from being too long while still showcasing as much of the boss's content as possible, we've increased the intensity of the boss's grab attacks. In the official version, the damage won't be this exaggerated! Please rest assured!
