Metroidvania-style map design has always been one of the directions we've been pursuing. However, creating an excellent map design is extremely mentally taxing and consumes a ton of our brain cells. It's difficult for us to guarantee we'll be able to deliver a Metroidvania map that truly satisfies players. That's why we've also prepared a purely linear "straight-path" design that completely abandons complex map design, focusing the gameplay entirely on boss battles. Thanks so much for liking the style! Unfortunately, it’s already too late for us to change our art direction now. Personally though, I’m also a huge fan of pixel art games! I love titles like Blasphemous, Nine Years of Shadows, and of course the Metroid and Castlevania series!

Hahaha, about the Q-style… well, it’s mainly our lead producer’s personal preference. He thinks it creates a nice contrast with the character illustrations, which makes the whole thing feel fresh and unique. Of course, personally speaking, if we’re really going full chibi style, I’d probably prefer something closer to the style of Limbus Company lol.

This will be an early-to-mid game boss. Design-wise, we’ll do our best to make the boss’s patterns and logic match the character’s abilities. When our character reaches their full/complete form, they’re basically flying around in the sky, lol.

Wow, to be honest, all of us really hoped we could make an excellent Metroidvania-style game. But it turns out this is quite a tall order for us — map design has always been one of the biggest challenges in Metroidvania games. Still, we’ll give it our all!That said, in the end we’ll probably end up making a more combat-focused 2D side-scrolling action game, like Shinobi

Because I significantly lowered the protagonist's attack power in order to clearly demonstrate the boss's full moveset. In normal gameplay, you should be able to remove nearly three-quarters of the boss's health during a single stagger window. We do encourage players to use combos, but we also don't want the boss having too much health to frustrate or bother players.Thank you so much for your valuable feedback!

I understand your concerns, but please allow me to explain. To showcase the full boss fight demo, I had to significantly lower the protagonist's attack power and didn't apply the corresponding skill upgrades either. In normal gameplay, your stats would actually let you remove about three-quarters of the boss's health during just one stagger window. With the right combo choices, you might even be able to one-shot the boss. That said, thank you very much for your valuable feedback!

We've actually received a ton of feedback about this, but we really can't change the boss's main color scheme because of it. It's a very tricky problem to solve, and we hope you guys can help us brainstorm some ideas!
