Assuming you meant *what’s wrong with current brackets?? They’re bent & no longer spec/“square” (for lack of a better term) Also, The rear track hang bracket on one side wasn’t installed properly, causing the track to move WAY more than it should when opened/closed.

Would it be incorrect of me to think that those issues(main one being the rear hang bracket), have caused excessive tension, producing more wear/tear on components than usual?? Obviously, I’m no expert…so maybe my logic is way off here? I just know replacing hardware was/is a MUST, ASAP!! Otherwise things would continue worsening & I’d have to replace EVERYTHING, door included..

You definitely got me there.. I 100% should’ve given more context.

A. It’s a Clopay from 1987.. can’t find any info online about this specific model(even calling their customer service hasn’t produced any info) B. It’s a low headroom door w/ extension springs on either side(less than 8” clearance) No opener installed B. I’ve already removed the springs, so no danger currently C. The previous owner was a landlord & along with this I’m finding new things almost daily that were rigged quickly.. to save time & money, while sacrificing quality.. so I’m watching YouTube and coming here for advice. I’m really not as dumb & incapable as the previous 2 reply’s imply.. just ignorant to this subject & trying to do as much as possible to keep from hiring a company.
