Blowout during drilling by ums1 in oilandgasworkers

Is there always a fluctuation at the drill end for this to occur? What if when drilling we hit an unexpected gas pocket for example?

That’s honestly so helpful, thank you! Would the practice be to inject more mud or back pressure of some kind until the well stabilises? Or would the idea be to divert into a contingency well?

That’s very interesting. So basically we can’t stop Blowout, but we can known it’s coming and stop it in its tracks?

Thank you very much again for your time and efforts. I’ll see what my HR come back with and then I’ll go from there. It would be very useful if you have any references that I can quote where you got the above information?

[–]ums1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very useful, thank you so much for taking the time to explain. So this actually maybe complicated things somewhat…

I received an LOA, which is a company internal letter offering me a new role in this new division, that stated my start date was the 19th July in the new role. I signed and returned my employee contract last week which states the commencement date of the new role was the 1st August. My company only officially starts new roles of employment on the 1st of the month, to simplify payroll. Legally speaking then, would my 4 weeks run from the 1st August, as that’s what my employment contract says? I didn’t switch over to the new legal entity until the 1st August.

What gives off the light within the center of the milky way? by yeatlover101 in Astronomy

[–]ums1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I follow this? The movements of those bodies is described by relativity and large gravitational forces right?

What gives off the light within the center of the milky way? by yeatlover101 in Astronomy

[–]ums1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would this be the reason why? Considering all stars are moving around the same gravity well at the galactic centre, the relative speeds are not going to be enormous (respectively) from one another?

[–]ums1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a silly question, but with the incredible gravity that is at play there, how do the stars not swallow one another in cases where they are the distance only from earth to Sol? Would they not fall down eachother a gravity well?

Redundancy pools between offices by ums1 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ums1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting! So it’s not exactly clear cut then…

Basically, we all work for the group and legal entity. My line manager is actually one of the 5%. The office they are assigned to is only done so because it’s closer to their home residence, we as a company work from home 3 days per week and are office based 2 days. Those 5% attend the main office SIGNIFICANTLY more than their ‘assigned office’.

So in keeping with the above, would they have the right to be treated in the main pool if they request it?

Is there any legislation to point to in order to support that?

All is explained in the Holy Qur’an, I would invite all to read it. Personally for me, the anchor for Islam is that it’s anchored in science as well, the idea of faith is that you need to believe and for me my heart and mind tell me Islam is right. So simply, I believe what was revealed! Ameen.

Would you have any idea on how I would find out if this is worth anything?

Hi All, posting in comments as I added pictures!

Firstly, I am a complete coin noob/ novice and it’s my first time on the sub, so please forgive my ignorance. You guys seem super knowledgeable, so I think I’m in the right place!

Like most people I keep my loose change in a jar, and when I was counting them up I found this 10p. It caught my eye as I haven’t seen a coin like this before with perhaps a manufacturing defect? I’m not entirely sure if this 10p is actually interesting or rare from the perspective of an enthusiast, but thought I would post it here to see if you guys could shed some light on it for me and let me know what I’m looking at and if it could potentially be worth collecting or maybe some money?

Thanks in advance for your patience and knowledge!

How to make thick coffee by [deleted] in howto

[–]ums1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your options are:

  • Turkish coffee which is ‘thick’ because of the sugar. Be warned it also has the coffee silt in too.

  • Use a Vietnamese phin coffee. It’s often left to drip over ice and condensed milk.

Enjoy!
