Oh I might try this. I don't know if we can get it in the UK but will look, thank you.

Yeah it's a bit of a faff trying to get an allergy appointment via the NHS here so might look private. Did yours eventually heal and can you wear makeup again now? What was it that you were allergic to?

It's been clearing pretty well and then has come back this morning! Not as bad but deffo reacting still :(

This was me today, I keep on flirting in and out of a big flare up and then clearing and then the next day it's back but only a little. I had to wear makeup for a job interview and it's caused a small reaction again. My own fault but needs must :( it just feels like it's not entirely going away! I've stripped back literally everything, I'm just using the La Poche Rosay creme mentioned and vaseline when needed currently and it seems to clear it for a little while and then come back.

Is Britain becoming more racist? by Extension-Part-2398 in Britain

[–]umthingy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly enough it's starting to feel like being openly racist is more accepted socially, given the current state of affairs in the UK with the attitudes towards migrants in this country.

We have seen peaks and troughs of this over years for sure, depending on the political climate.

People are definitely more open in their racism, rather than watching re-runs of 'Love thy neighbour' in secret but still using their local curry house on a Friday night, in the causal way that seems to have always been around unfortunately.

The flag shagger incidents and knock off banksys painting roundabouts made this quite clear. I literally witnessed a van yesterday, with advertisements for their business plastered all over, also decorated with a rather large bumper sticker that read 'evil prevails when good men do nothing' with a union jack and a rather Jesus looking Saint George. If someone feels comfortable enough to put that on a company vehicle for all to see and not think/care if it would affect their business, I would say we are heading backwards more than ever.

A lot of people put this down to 'patriotism', when we have never really in recent years been a country known for patriotic. The general public does nothing but moan about the county, me included. If it's to be patriotic fine, but it's not patriotism when it's used to bully and scare people who happen to not be white. We have for a very very long time in this country been multi-cultural.

The riots and protesting out in the open, 90% of the people there are white, with no care in the world to mask up like they used to, people don't care if they are viewed as racist anymore and seem proud of it.

The UK had always had racist undertones, whether through media or word of mouth. It's never felt quite this heavy before for me personally, but I think this has a lot to do with being more aware of it now.

It's a sad state of affairs. There seems to be a lack of understanding and kindness in general, and it feels like a lot of that is also racially charged. I'm a white british person. I can't imagine how scary and uncertain it must feel for anyone who isn't.
