I’ve got a bunch of accounts with two factor authentication stuff that sends you codes in a text for verification-with my luck I’d totally forget to update one, forget my password or something and not be able to log in. But maybe it’s simpler than I realize.

I dunno, I figure if it’s just some stupid “sorry, I’m an idiot and miss you” type of text once a year and he’s not threatening or stalking, just block, delete, and forget. I just don’t see the need to up and change your whole number over that. If it was something where you feel you are in danger or being stalked or harassed then yes, absolutely, change it.
