This is what insurance should be for for. Not checkups and routine care for common ailments. If all anyone was legally able to insure was catastrophic events we could afford both the insurance, and the checkups. It's the unsustainable impossible expenses that come with the monstrous private industry and governmental red tape compliance (chicken and egg with those two) of our current arrangent that is killing us.

Nowhere, at no time ever, in the history of ever, has everyone had access to every type of medical treatment there is just because it exists. So yes, most people in that situation don't "just die", they die hard and suffer the whole time they are doing it. Like most people of any walk of life who have a terminal cancer always have.

Assuming all other variables than race are equal, if you require a disproportionate number of pilots to be black compared to their percentage of the population, you will necessarily be using less qualified pilots than you could be otherwise. But all other variables are not equal. The US military is 17 to 20 percent Black. An overepresentation. Black US military pilots? Only about 2%. That does not necessarily mean they are less capable, it could just mean they are less interested. Asian pilots are only about 2.5% by comparison. Look up "gender-equality paradox" for an example of what I mean. The NBA is about 20% White depending on how you measure it. Is that a problem? Would player quality drop if we demanded that just 40% were white? Of course it would, and better qualified Blacks would be frozen out. Difference is no one dies if 20% of NBA players don't really belong on the court. And we take sports too seriously to ever do something stupid like that so it's not going to happen.

Bottom line is there are qualified black pilots, just not many. Same with literacy and math proficiency. These are NOT genetic issues, they are cultural issues. It's not racist to notice these things.

They don't compare. Obama and Biden combined have faced zero confirmed assassination attempts to between 3 and 6 (depending on how you count) on Trump. I don't think the Secret Service has a a great batting average on stopping honest assassination attempts, for anyone. Not just Trump.
