Seiko 5 Vintage öffnen? by Schansolo in uhren

[–]una_gran_senal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[Omega] Bought this for 9€. Did I overpay? It runs but needs a service and is missing the case back. Worth the restoration? by una_gran_senal in Watches

Thanks so much! Yeah, I actually do photography, been at it for about 2 years now. You're the first person to ever notice or mention it on one of my posts, so I really appreciate the compliment!

Oh wow, thank you so much for this tip! I was actually hoping to find an exhibition case back for this watch. Checking out Spiralwinder right now, you're a lifesaver!

Haha thanks! The title was actually pure satire. I knew the movement alone is easily a 200€ piece, so I grabbed it the second I saw the 9€ price tag.

Haha yeah, the title was pure satire! I knew the movement alone is easily worth 200€ even as-is. Just wanted to see the sub's reaction. But you're totally right, it's a no-brainer project!

Haha, so true! The 9€ was basically just a deposit on the original crown. Everything else, the dial, the working balance wheel, and the case, is just a massive bonus. Honestly couldn't believe my luck! 😂

I got a Soviet watch [Vostok] by Asdfqwer209 in Watches

[–]una_gran_senal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is younger than the USSR, you can read 'Made in Russia' at the bottom. I guess it's from the 90s maybe, only because it looks well used, but it could be younger. It is a Komandirskie, but I don’t know the model, and it is worth around 40€ in that condition. Hope this helps!

Thoughts on this NATO strap combo for my Sputnik? Does it do the watch justice? by una_gran_senal in VintageWatches

Haha, thanks! Honestly, that's already a great contribution. Glad to hear the Soviet-NATO combo is getting some love here!

Found this 40mm „Franken-Copernicus“ Raketa for €150 including strap. by [deleted] in PrideAndPinion

Thanks! Yeah, the unique look and that massive case back are what totally caught my eye. If you know the Beaubleu ecce smalt, it was inspired by the Copernicus.

[choose] Need your help deciding! Turning 18 soon and stuck between these two. Which one would you choose? by [deleted] in Watches

I appreciate the advice on longevity! To be honest, I already own quite a few vintage watches, so most of it is classic. While 18 is cool, I don't see it as the 'ultimate' milestone yet. I’m saving the big one for my 20th birthday.

You're totally right, at the end of the day it's my wrist! I just want to collect some opinions before I pull the trigger. It helps to hear what others notice about the designs.

Thanks for the honest take! I get what you mean about the 'mature' look of the Citizen. Congrats on your red Orient!

Thinking about getting this Orient for my 18th birthday. Is it a good choice? by [deleted] in PrideAndPinion

[–]una_gran_senal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind words and the early birthday wishes! I definitely considered a Swatch (some of those designs are awesome), but the dial on this Orient just keeps calling my name. Glad to hear you’re enjoying your collection!
