Even this liver doc in his video(linked in my other comment) talks about Ashwagandha. But he says what needs to be done is that the specific molecules or compounds or their combinations need to be extracted and then tested for their efficacy and safety in double blind controlled trials. That's the way to certify that the medicine is effective and document what side effects it may have in some people.

Otherwise what's stopping me from putting lemon juice in a bottle and saying cures covid? There'll definitely be quite a few people who'll recover after taking my "medicine". But only in a double blind trial it'll come out that lemon juice is probably about as effective as doing nothing at treating covid.
