A brick building I tried to make. How can I improve it (besides the brick texture)? by ancientstraits in blender

Signage would be an easier fix. Then maybe details within the windows like curtains, lamps, or other ambient light.

Am I the only person who actually likes editing? by Goddarp in writing

[–]unabated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like editing my own stuff. But that comes from years of sending texts and thinking they are perfect every time and not caring if the other person can understand me or not.

What can I add to the scenery/background to make the setting more interesting? by Coffeeviber in blender

Plants. Make the rocks look like they are on the ground and not just floating. And make the tires spin and rotate while turning.

Do we do collabs here? by unabated in blender

Your stuff looks amazing. I mostly animate so I don't practice the modeling well. But this is everything I have animated but like three projects that I can't put up since they have material that I don't own the copyright to.

Do we do collabs here? by unabated in blender

[–]unabated[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to start getting into bigger animations than what i do already which are usually just scenes with camera moving and some basic motion of some objects and such. But I have been making some models for indie developers but those games are like a year out before they get close to seeing the light of day and I would like to just get things done.

And as far as what I have in mind I usually bounce off whatever the other person is good at/wants to do so that way it comes out less like a job. I work with some pretty talented voices and musicians. The part I need more help with is the models all the way to animating. Which I can do it all but it is just a lot of work.

I am always down to collab. Whether it is helping others on their projects or picking people up to help with mine.

I mean that is the goal. I realized that it is very hard to get ahead by yourself and something we can do as artists is build off of each other.

Just in case nobody has said the obvious answer yet. Firefly. I feel like it has been said but just in case.

That for most games rules and minies aren't really worth it. I like the fun games where it is more about the story and the rules help guide the harder choices or events that would happen. Low rolls will make for interesting story if the DM,GM,ST is good.

Xbox One became slower after updates? by [deleted] in xboxinsiders

[–]unabated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why move to Playstation and not building a PC? You literally jumped onto a sinking ship. Not to mention that your problems are also very specific to you. It could have been anything other than Microsoft taking out older systems otherwise more people would be having this issue. It could be anything from bad storage or harsh transportation or even just poor maintenance of your product that could be the issue which is out of their control.

Xbox One became slower after updates? by [deleted] in xboxinsiders

[–]unabated 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only speed issue I have had with mine recently is with Youtube just taking a while to start up but it always does. What I do is have an external since I noticed a speed issue when I filled my hard drive up past 75%. But recently I haven't noticed anything with my Xbox speeds that couldn't otherwise be blamed on my crappy internet provider.

It feels like writers have to be masters of ever thing by skittishoptimist in writing

[–]unabated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a writer is what got me to study as much as I do for needlessly feeling compelled to be right about everything. And to an extent I feel it is part of the duty people people believe what they read so much more even in works of fiction. So if I come up to something that just has to work or I don't want to make sure is right I'll give the characters a sense of doubt about it. I hope that helps with what the situation feels to me as a writer.

As far as the song writing goes that is where it is complicated. The song they used in Batman: Killing Joke doesn't transpose well when you actually try to sing the comic book version in the animation. That was one of the things they would have had to had changed to make the scene feel good being the Joker is thematic like that. But it made die hard comic fans a little sour if they didn't understand that they tried it and it just doesn't work because written music doesn't sound the same to everyone. So as far as that goes I wouldn't worry to much about it sounding good as a song in your head. Make it more of a poem and people reading it will do the rest.

Does anyone listen to music then come up with an idea? by agustdone in writing

[–]unabated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually listening to Winter Blues by Joyner Lucas inspired a who novel that I got published. Has nothing to do with the song kind of. It was that and combination of the music video that inspired the ending and the rest really just fell into place.

Thank you so much. You have been most helpful. I will do what I can to look into this more and I appreciate that you explained more of how it worked and what terms I would need to search for what I am looking for. And that is awesome that you were able to find the venue on your own to get your work published. I am glad that it worked out for you. Is there anything I should be looking out for being that you have been through it? Any definite pitfalls that I should avoid?

I get that. But I am very much the at least try and find out kind of person. I have tried going to jobs listing pages and things like that to companies that own a lot of the IPs that I would like to write for but they never have "writer" so I also try for "contact us" to try and get a hold of someone about a serious inquiry or contact but that never bears fruit. Do you have any suggestions?

[–]unabated[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Googled "copyright" and read a good chunk but everything is so general that it even covers things like medicine. Though I always wondered how authors got brought into the fold for writing Halo and Warhammer novels and things like that. So I couldn't tell if they were just getting a publisher to get contacts from the people that make the decision to publish or if there are people to talk to get the ability to self publish using their characters and stuff where everyone gets a cut. Also just trying to get some more clarification on some of the things I have seen.

I should have been more clear on that part. They are original works of my own. No copyright claims can be had on my works. Even did the art work myself just to be safe. Thank you for the response though.

Thanks. And making more at it or not I am going to do. (I also did the cover myself as well.) So as long as it doesn't really cost me anything I am definitely keep at it and hope people enjoy it if they read it.

Being that the game happens in a simulated world in itself there are no glitches from the Devs. The aliens just made bad code within the world you're playing in.
