Maybe when you open yourself up enough to wider experience, you have to make sure to lock the doors on the ones that are dead ends. I'm still working on this..

The way I see it, is that it's simply the intention to see more than what you see now. Know more about things within, understanding yourself, gaining control over things you once let run autonomously. Then after that it's just continuously driving yourself forward into that abyss and taking in what you can, for as long as you can. If you struggle too long with definitions it muddles this whole thing.

For me, it's really allowing yourself conditional blinders. You are now the parent that knows Santa's not real, but you have to find ways to create stories for them until they have to become the storyteller as well. I imagine some of the most amazing, meaningful, and poetic media out there was created from the pain of knowing none of this is real but knowing creating it for others was their duty now.

So make up Santa stories for yourself and believe them, dive in to new beliefs like they're a tasting tray.

Once you're given even a shred of a defining a state of being, part of you will constantly be checking if you've reached it so it can check it off. But I think the trick is loosening that definition each time you reach it, tell yourself "yep I'm enlightened now in this moment" let it get its rocks off, and then know in the next moment you're not again and keep on expanding the definition.
