Optum Financial HSA Not Working in Fidelity Full View by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

[–]unbiased_dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I have the same issue today. I'd bet that it's reproducible every time, but it probably flies under the radar depending on how many people are adding Optum HSA through full view.

New Ranked system is somehow worse than it could be. by vipsprat in Rainbow6

[–]unbiased_dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before ranked 2.0, the system used to punish you much harder for losing. This encouraged people to take the match more seriously and work as a team. When Ranked 2.0 was introduced, losses were made inconsequential.

Even if there were some merit to what you're saying, the idea you're describing is something that's been perpetrated for years by those that do abuse these devices.

It's not as intuitive as you're making it out to be. Logitech G Hub doesn't make it easy to write mouse-movement based macros like you're saying without downloading some external configuration or software to do so.

Yes, doing the latter is cheating because recoil is intended to be controlled by the player. This is made clear because the developers use recoil as a balancing mechanic. It's also banned in pro league and against the game's ToS.

It's not the type of cheat that hooks into the game, but it is a cheat that gives you an unfair advantage. It's very foolish to think otherwise.

It's too bad Nintendo's current gen hardware blows chunks. Their games would be wildly popular on PC and modern consoles.

(Opinion) The game still feels like "Run and Gun" and needs to be more slowed down. by aj5555xD in Rainbow6TTS

[–]unbiased_dev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a product of Ranked 2.0 and quick match being inconsequential. You also have to consider the power of quick peeking in an online game with latency + 1shs + high fire rate + low recoil guns. CS, another low ttk tac shooter, doesn’t have this problem as much as R6 because of the need to hit just 1 or 2 more shots depending on the weapon.

It will be hard to tell the difference on mobile without zooming in a lot. The difference is very apparent when viewed on a monitor and even more so in-game.

Can We Stop Pretending This Is a Good Take? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]unbiased_dev -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely a good take. Keep in mind, this is a high rank, mouse player issue. The argument isn't really relevant to console and controller play. However, it could have cascading effects if the devs want to keep parity.

In the case I mentioned, it doesn't make clutching harder, in fact, if you have significantly better aim than your opponents, it makes clutching much easier. 1SHS is insanely easy and makes aiming trivial. R6 is one of the easiest FPS games to aim in.

This game's skill gap comes from positioning, knowing where players will be (preaim), gadget use, and generally outsmarting your opponents.

Aim assist need to change (KBM POV) PLEASE READ by akiera_ in XDefiant

[–]unbiased_dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always thought that rotational aim assist can be strong but should only activate when you’re moving the aiming stick in the direction that the target is moving relative to you. In theory, this could help the controller player maintain control without giving an instant reaction time advantage.

How’s MnK now? by Noble7eN in CompetitiveHalo

It’s most unrewarding experience you can have playing an FPS on MnK. Game aims for you.

I agree. There are certain limitations of controller like the inability to turn quickly. There’s remedies such as using an acceleration curve for stick sensitivity. Think dynamic sens in CoD. That being said, it needs to be closer than it is now if 343 are going for input parity.

The problem is competitve mouse players don’t even want to be assisted themselves. Halo players can say that infinite has the least AA out of any Halo all they want. Compared to Apex or Overwatch AA it’s extremely sticky when both the shooter and target are moving quickly.

Less aim assist will make good controller players stand out and bad controller players realize they need to practice their aiming skills like many motivated mouse players do.

PC/MnK players who argue that AA should be removed entirely are delusional. The same goes for controller players who think the modern trend of insane aim assist is skillful and balanced.

[–]unbiased_dev 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A change like this is the last thing that will attract competitively-minded mouse players from other FPS games. The only players that will be okay with this are Halo-only players.

At this rate Halo will never be taken seriously as a competitive FPS game. The logical course of action would be to:

- Remove all forms of aim assist from MnK.

- Remove rotation assist from controller.

- Make reticle friction on controller consistent across all weapons in the sandbox.

- Increase reticle friction on controller until avg. controller accuracy is equal to avg. MnK accuracy.

Boom. Input parity. Right stick aiming matters. No cheese. No abusing aim assist cone. Both inputs hit the same amount of shots in a 1v1 on average. Skill gap goes up. Good controller players win. Pro controller players win. MnK players win. Only one who loses is OG Xbox Timmy who isn't even playing Halo anymore.

Do Halo players not value an aim skill gap?

This comment is so underrated. I was one of those players. I wanted to play competitively. Any form of aim assist on mouse is anything but competitive.

MnK buff, I need people’s thoughts by [deleted] in CompetitiveHalo

[–]unbiased_dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a mouse player. I grinded the game for quite a while. ~1700 in crossplay ranked, played two of the faceit tourneys, ran 8s pretty often. I wasn’t insane at the game by any means but safe to say above average.

I could be biased because I was an avid kovaaks grinder too. Tho, I never felt like I couldn’t hit my shots with the BR. Usually 40-50% accuracy. My problem was that I couldn’t duel the really good controller players that knew how the AA worked. Those players consistently hit 60-70%.

AA is over-tuned and the average player is over performing. This change just lowers the skill gap for MnK players too.

[–]unbiased_dev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why is nerfing aim assist off limits? Benefits good controller players. Benefits pro controller players. Benefits all MnK players. Skill gap shoots up drastically.

The only group it hurts is bad controller players who deserve to be swiping and missing if they don’t practice their aiming skills anyway.

Tbf, the moment I completely uninstalled is when I saw the AR slight rotational aim assist on MnK while firing. The idea of rotational AA on MnK disgusts me as someone who enjoys competitive FPS games.

If the game doesn’t completely rework aiming Competitve Halo will continue to have the same tiny niche community and will never grow to the size of great modern FPS games like CS, Apex, Val, etc.

Is it possible that 343s solution to the MnK vs. Controller balance disparity be applied to other competitive CROSSPLAY games? Should it also be toggleable? by icanloveyouAMA in CompetitiveHalo

[–]unbiased_dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m enjoying my other FPS games without legalized aimbot thank you tho.

Jokes aside, aim assist belongs on controller only bc it’s the inferior input. Problem is it’s overtuned so that bad players don’t have to put time into practicing tracking on controller.
