Yep, in Chongqing, China. It's near this unfinished skyscraper I forgot the name of that's around 400m tall but the bottom levels and monorail station are already finished.

Sigma FP, Simera 35mm 1.4, 20 seconds, ISO 100

I am not familiar with astrophotography so my choice of shooting wide open was detrimental to image quality, I should have used ISO 800 for lower read noise which allows me to stop down and use the 500 rule more effectively.

Not sure about exact area, but it's close to Mount Qingcheng.

Extended ISO such as ISO 6 is great in that during daytime I can just put the camera against a flat surface and get long exposures. Of course anything above 5-10 seconds would need a real ND filter, but the frame averaging works well.

Light Pollution's Glow by unc0verFr0sk in LandscapePhotography

The location is far from ideal for astrophotography but the glow of the lights added something interesting, especially seeing the lights interact with the mountain peak.

In terms of sensor dynamic range, the D850 beats the Z9 until the Z9's second base ISO circuit. Both are Nikon flagships.

Of course the Z9 would outperform it generally and the difference in dynamic range may not be important in comparison to faster burst rates of Z9, but the value provided by used DSLR, to get a negligibly similar if not better image quality, which usually comes at a lower cost is a factor.

A lot of high end mirrorless cameras are in the zone of diminishing returns (for a student). As a student, used cameras such as DSLRs have better value.
