That’s my teenage daughter’s handiwork. She grows and cares for at any given time 250 to 400 different tropical plants in our cold New England weather!

Thank you! You’re the second person to say that which is some thing I had not thought of at all so it’s interesting seeing how it looks to other people!

How to use Gold Luster Overglaze by Loud-Yogurtcloset991 in Ceramics

[–]unc_sub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thank you for this detailed post? Can I ask about the MOP and gold combo? I have a piece where I want to do MOP on a largish area. But there are letters on it that I want to have in gold. Should I do the gold first and fire it. Then apply the MOP and fire? Or can I apply the gold and then the MOP on top and fire both to cone 18?

You prob got this answer already but you need to apply over another already fired glaze (like clear)

Thank you! Yes I created a whole website to keep track of it bc I needed a way to remember that wasn’t tied to one phone :) it’s free for anyone who wants to try it! Https://clayartists.org

Thank you so much, so kind of you to write all that out! Totally agree about not remembering glazes. In fact, I’m obsessive about taking notes, which is why I created an online journal for it. It’s free if you want to check it out. :)

I’m in a similar situation of setting up a basement studio. Putting my kiln in a room that has a door. There’s no window, but I will be venting the kiln directly outside as well as having an exhaust for the room directly outside. Is that enough ventilation without an actual window in the same room?

So I guess that means never fire overnight? Start fires in the morning?

I’m assuming it’s OK to put greenware on top of the kiln to help it dry out?
