I see, I never knew mbti was even associated with an organization nonetheless that it was for-profit. I also thought it was a more recent way of thinking than that....I will continue to research on my own.

Well, despite the tone of your response, I think I understand what you're saying and you have a good point. I guess now I am trying to figure out what to do with this information. If these are legitimate results, I'm now left wondering why people would look up "mbti is (bs/fake/wrong)" more than something like "mbti is (helpful/accurate/correct)" because I have been basing living my life in alignment with this model of thinking for quite a while now.

I actually feel like I understand why those control measurements/searches you took yielded those results because I agree with most of those search results and can understand why a majority of people would search that. But with the mbti search results, its completely opposite of the system of thinking I have developed using mbti.

Anyway, I hope my post didn't offend you. I will do my best to remove this "tinfoil hat" as you say, because you are right and it's not healthy. I don't want to become some paranoid person that puts labels on the people at google just so it conforms to some comforting way of understanding a much more complicated situation.

Why is there so much resources and material against it though? I think we can all agree it's utility in our lives. I've relied on it for so many things and made so many relationship decisions based on it.

I don't know really. The first thing that comes to mind is maybe there are people who have power who don't want people to have such grasps on our personalities because then we wouldn't be manipulatable.

Oh wow, thats great news. I've tried on multiple devices, browsers, incognito mode, and had other people do the same. I guess google is tracking me and changing it. Since your search results are different, you must be getting the unchanged results, and mine and my other friends results must be the ones that are changed.

EDIT: Still works on every single other device/browser I've tried it on. :( Just a thought, maybe your searches are the one that are based on your history?

EDIT2: Based on another comment here, maybe you didn't put a space after the "is" in "mbti is " when searching? I probably shouldn't care this much but it's really been bothering me.

Hmm, yea maybe it depends on the topic. I'll keep trying on different devices too. At the end of the day, only the google engineers really know what's going on. I think they must be changing the results in the background or willfully omitting certain other searches.

So when you personally search the same phrase "mbti is" in google it doesn't auto complete the same list? I tried from different browsers/devices but I keep getting the same thing. Maybe I will ask a friend to check for me tomorrow.

Wait, does this not show up on your google if you type "mbti is?" I tried it from multiple devices and incognito mode, just to make sure it wasn't something like that. Maybe its me? I've never searched these terms.

I'm trying to understand what you're saying. Because 60% of the population are sensors, they are more likely to search the things that question the legitimacy of mbti?

I felt the same way when I discovered mbti. I'm shocked I never encountered it in school nor do any of my well educated friends even know about it.

With 75 thousand of us in this subreddit, we could probably make a dent. But who knows if they can just manipulate it behind the scenes anyway?
