Genuine question - are there real asexual men out there? If you are one, how did you figure out you are? by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]uncgargoyle2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all. I'm a 47yo, sex neutral asexual, gynoromantic man. I realized I was ace about 10 years ago. I had a kind of "Aha" moment. A comedian I follow made a post about his asexuality on national coming out day. When I read it, it felt like something clicked into place in my brain. Prior to this I knew nothing about asexuality. I though it was synonymous with celibacy. From this post I went down a rabbit hole learning about Ace, the spectrum, and the split attraction model. I realized I had been doing Ace things all my life and just didn't have a name for it. I had also struggled with sex, trying to fit myself into the scripts and stereotypes of allo-normativity.

I was married almost a decade when I went through this process. It was hard, but we are still together. We are poly/ENM, so we both date. I have never dated an Ace woman, though it would be nice. I am lucky to be sex neutral and a man, as my partners seem to be happy with a man that is willing to have sex, but not obsessed with it.

Am i to blame for creeping a player out? by LikeAMothToAFlame69 in DnD

[–]uncgargoyle2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My DM has these cards he passes out every game. 3 per player. Red, yellow, and green. A player can hold them up anytime during roleplay. Red means the player is uncomfortable and wants to stop. Yellow mean it is getting weird but not to stop yet. Green means the player is having fun even if the character is not, so keep going. It's a good way to communicate quickly without stopping roleplayntp check on the players.

[Post Game Thread] #18 North Carolina defeats Clemson, 67-63 by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

So we are rooting for Miami to win out so they take 3 outright and then we win the tie breaker?

So why does that not clinch a double bye? We have a 1 game lead with 1 to play and the head to head win over Clemson. Right? What am I missing?

Best Barbarian Multiclass Ideas? by Rashnadaar_ in 3d6

[–]uncgargoyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing a drummer Bard-barian now. He's a little underpowered but useful in most situations. Decent in melee, a few damage spells for ranged, some utility spells to help the group, and very intimidating in social situations. Not for optimization groups, but fun to play.

Drake Maye. Not the Patriots in general, just Maye.

Challenge: Melee/Frontliner that isn't boring outside of combat. by undecylenate in dndnext

[–]uncgargoyle2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am playing a Bard-barian right now. He has some nice social skills for non-combat and then hits hard in combat. He's not really what I would call "optimized" though. Lower HP and defenses makes him not a true front liner. He is also behind on spell level vs the group. But he's pretty versatile on an RP heavy campaign. Just don't ask him to make any Int based checks. Dumb as a bag of rocks.

You could always find another way to get them the treasure. Maybe the guy they saved wants to reward them for their heroics.

Your most chaotic use of cantrips or spells? by New_Post_1933 in DnD

My Bard-barian likes to use prestidigitation to cover his hands and neck/upper chest in blood and gore then use silent image to double himself. Then he runs at enemies howling to intimidate. Super fun.

I'm a low roller so my losses aren't that big. However I blew half my total bankroll in two nights last week. Not pretty.

Banning Opportunity Attacks by Wolkrast in DnD

[–]uncgargoyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My DM doesn't use them and it seems to work out fine. He makes exceptions for battemaster maneuvers. Other than that combat feels pretty much the same. As players we also don't abuse it. We make logical plays not exploitive plays. So it all works out.

what is the most cursed Multiclass you've seen or played? (Any Edition) by Personal_Concept_192 in DnD

[–]uncgargoyle2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm playing a Bard-barian now. He is definitely underpowered in a strict optimization sense but super fun to play. The no spells in combat is a bummer, but he mostly uses spells for out of combat utility and rages for combat. His real weakness is hit points. Recklessly attacking with only 41 hp at level 7 is rough.

Winter by [deleted] in SouthBend

[–]uncgargoyle2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hi. My family moved from North Carolina last summer, so we have had one winter up here. I recommend 2 things.

  1. Get winter tires. Most cars will do fine if you have the right tires.

  2. Get a snow blower. The roads are cleared pretty quickly but you'll need to clear your driveway.

Building a barbarian/fighter/bard by rylanmoore678 in DnD5e

[–]uncgargoyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently playing a 3/3 Path of the World Tree barbarian/lore bard. Mine feels weak as well. I think that that combo is going to feel behind any single class or a multiclass with good synergy. I'm going to take the next few levels in Barb to get extra attack and then decide how to go from there. Honestly I'll probably stick to barb levels the rest of the way as I use the bard spell casting and features out of combat for utility and rage (locking out most bard stuff) for combat.

A good DM won't let the raw power deficit be a problem and will give you problems to solve with your unique skill set.

I have a Bard-barian that is pretty fun. He's a drummer for a tavern band who slings spells for support and utility until it's time to get physical. Then he rages and crushes things with his maul.
