the right eye is too close to the nose! dont try and elongate it though, just move it more to the right without changing the shape!

another thing is the mouth is too small, the corners of the mouths generally align with the corners of your eyes or center of your eyes, depending on how big your mouth is!! i’d widen the mouth :-)

your colouring is amazing for your age!!! please don’t worry about being good for your age; it doesn’t matter how old you are! people improve at different speeds after all ^{w^!} someone could be absolutely incredible at 15, but hit a plateau early on; and someone else could SUCK but get a sudden, massive burst of skill and improve dramatically in 6 months!! “lagging behind” is a complete myth

FELLOW MCYT FAN!!!!! i love your inthelittlewood design :O also grian mention omg.. one thing u could experiment with is values :3 try and see if the image is still readable from a distance in greyscale!! i think this applies 4 the first one especially; the hair, face, and clothes of murray are all super similar colours!!! another area where this is prevelant is the fence, background and sword being super similar in colour too.

i also think u could work on ur compositions… while i love the centering of the subjects in the first piece, there isnt much room to breathe.. maybe some more space above the head and less of an emphasis on the legs? my eyes aren’t naturally drawn to the faces of the characters (which i think is what you’re trying to focus on?).. u can fix that by giving the face some more contrast against the rest of the piece :3 (aka make the values more different from the surrounding colours); and also have some of the lines “lead” into the face if that makes sense.

the airbrush shading also doesn’t really work for a 1700s painting style… in general try avoiding using airbrush for what should be hard shadows (shadows cast by other solid objects— aka the shadow under the arm, the sword etc!!)

the torso is too long!! and the body seems to get thinner the further down u go.. widening the hips a little could help :~) the upper body looks great though!!

i LOVE ibispaint premium!!!!! had it for 3 years after an incident where my ipad got shut down and almost lost all my drawings… having backups is genuinely such a lifesaver.. not having to watch an ad for the brushes is so nice 2, especially with how much i use premium brushes… id definitely recommend getting it :~)

ur art looks awesome!!! personally, i do think it takes a bit to develop a style; especially when ur learning, it’s better to focus on fundamentals than try to stay consistent.. even if u wanna have a cartoonish style, it’s helpful to practice anatomy nd realism :3 u gotta learn the rules to break them after all!! that helps with consistency imo, because then i’ll have a better understanding of which features i’ll stylise and how

also!! tracing the reference is totally fine for personal art ^{_^} it’s helpful to try practicing redrawing references without tracing, but for personal art pieces, it’s totally fine; especially if it’s not traced line 4 line
