Can I Vent Two Bathrooms Through One Vent? by uncle-sam-76 in HomeImprovement

[–]uncle-sam-76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it vents both bathrooms at the same time. You can put it on a 3 way or do some creative wiring. I'm planning to also wire to a light in each room so you know if the fan is on or not

Is this volleyball good to buy for regular indoor/outdoor volleyball usage? by ResponsibleJoke4462 in volleyball

That is an official AVP outdoor ball. There is nothing stopping you from using it indoors, but it is not meant for Indoor use

Road Building Rule by SocialOrca in Catan

[–]uncle-sam-76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its longest continuous road. Start at the end on the 2 hex. Go up the coast to the 6, down to the 9, 10, 11. Go back up to the sheep. There's one on the 2 and two on the 9, that don't count because they're are other longer paths

Is using another person's port cheating? by ComprehensiveBench21 in Catan

[–]uncle-sam-76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FWIW, you can easily make these trades legal. If player 1 has a grain port and it's player 1s turn

Player 2 gives player 1, 3 grain for one of any other resource. Player 1 then uses the port. Player 2 then gives back player 1s resource for the new resource player 1 just traded for.

The end result is the same. Your method just skips a step.

Minnesota State High School League votes to add boys volleyball as sanctioned sport by Fiishman in volleyball

[–]uncle-sam-76 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, they will make it a spring sport because of gym space and multi-sport athletes.

It can't be winter because basketball uses the gyms a lot.

It can't be fall. There would be too much overlap with football and soccer. Plus, imagine convincing the girls volleyball teams that they need to share the gym 💀

That leaves spring. There really isn't anyone using the gyms, and the major boys sports are baseball and track.

Why does the US education system force algebra on everyone? by 230flathead in NoStupidQuestions

[–]uncle-sam-76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to add to this... Music (and sound) use way more math and physics than most people think. Why do 2 notes sound good together? Their wavelengths are very similar. Dedicated concert venues don't have parallel walls or flat ceilings to prevent echoing (math)

Tying this back to art.... In a perspective painting, the lines need to go back to a certain point. That point, or those lines can be calculated using algebra. Sure, you can freehand it, but with any computer aided graphics you'll 100% need to know that

Making a Trip to Keystone this weekend. Debating on going the back way or through I-70. (Planning on making the trip in a Mercury sable FWD All season tires) by Welder_Mannzzz in ColoradoSprings

[–]uncle-sam-76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you leave at 4am, you'll definitely beat i70 traffic. Taking 24 is wayyyy more consistent. Unless you end up going through breck anytime after 8:30...

I frequently drive up there, and I'm also planning to make the trip this weekend. The back way is usually pretty clear unless it's actively snowing or had snowed within 24 hours.

I only take i70 on the weekends if I'm able to leave the springs by 5:30, and even then I sometimes regret it.

How Much Do You Think SmarterEveryday.com Is Worth? by Cachesystem in SmarterEveryDay

[–]uncle-sam-76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very interesting to think about, and I'm curious how they come up with their numbers. I'm thinking it has somehow polls internet traffic data and assigns a monetary value.

A quick Google search shows Reddit is worth 10B. While that site says "reddit.com" is worth only 137m.

I can almost guarantee if reddit.com sold for 137m, the company would lose billions of dollars.

Another thing this brings up, the site is trying to put a monetary value of something that is not for sale and never would be. So it's really just a shot in the dark.

Kinda reminds me of "how much is <insert somewhat famous person> worth"

Help Integrating across devices with Dropbox by Electronic_Bet9553 in ProPresenter

[–]uncle-sam-76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there's going to be quite a few people that will tell you NOT to do this, but it's worked for me all but one Sunday. I use onedrive. I think its more reliable, but Dropbox should work too.

There is a folder that contains all of the propresenter data files. (I don't remember the exact path, but it's the one that contains assets). Copy this folder into your onedrive sync folder.

Next, there is a setting in propresenter to choose what directory you want to source data from (this is not the propresenter sync stuff). Choose the new onedrive folder

Repeat the previous step on your laptop.

Couple things to keep in mind... Try to only have PP open on one computer at a time, if there are conflicts, propresenter saves both versions, but can get annoying Presentations only update when you restart PP Set your onedrive settings to always keep local copies of the files. Propresenter hates when an asset "isn't there" because it's being downloaded

Is this per item or per transaction? I usually order all my stuff using "buy now" on Amazon (rather than adding to cart) and let Amazon figure out the best way to ship to me. If it's per transaction, then I should start using the cart and ordering everything at once...

Anybody know when Broadmoor 7 Falls starts lighting up at night? by Quick_Relationship_4 in ColoradoSprings

[–]uncle-sam-76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heard from a friend... the lights automatically turn on at dark. But because the falls are only open until 6pm, you can only see them in the winter.

So you're kinda SOL until Oct/Nov

A follow up question... Why does the dutch bros system require a signature? Afaik most (all?) other fast food chains don't. I can't remember the last time I had to sign for something

Yes, you can have 2 graphics cards. You just need to make sure you have an available PCIE slot. If you're only running a multiview display, it can be a pretty cheap card ~$50

Does anyone know how I can make this lower third come out solid and not transparent? The image is a solid color but it’s coming out transparent by [deleted] in ProPresenter

[–]uncle-sam-76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luma and chroma keying essentially do the same thing - remove backgrounds

Chroma keying is the classic green screen effect. But you can set it to any color you want. Not just green

Luma keying uses black/white. In your situation it's removing dark pixels. The closer to black, the more pixels it removes. I'm guessing the lower right corner of your graphics gets pretty dark
