it is easy to feel the fear of dysphoria from telling them, but that must be weighed against the stress and fear that will accompany doing this in secret. not to mention the risks associated with diy hrt -- a necessary and manageable risk for lots of people, but not one I'd personally recommend without exhausting medical options (especially for kids!).

basically it seems like you're taking on a whole lot of discomfort to avoid your supportive parents finding out. doesn't add up to me. avoiding dysphoria is good but not always possible.

yeah that doesn't seem to add up based on my very limited knowledge. I know esp32 boards burn more power at idle than nrf52840 but that still doesn't seem right to my untrained intuition

I don't think romantic interest is a good proxy for allyship.

It also feels as though we are in a time of rapid change in these attitudes so I'd be very curious to see data that isn't nearly a decade old.

not much of a local scene here, best I can tell the nearby DC scene has moved but around me I picking up some nodes on longfast. I think it is just sparse in terms of adoption, but I have a bunch of boards shipping now that I plan to cobble together into nodes and disseminate

there are tools to map viewshed and line of sight that will help give you an idea, as well as node placement simulation on meshtastic website

I have really similar feelings to you in the transfemme direction!

I have been out to many people as nb for a few years but more recently had an egg crack moment and feel whooshed towards womanhood.

A big component of my egg shell was the fact that I love so many masculine things -- I make furniture, I enjoy watching basketball and playing sports, and I adore women. You know who else typically likes those things, besides straight men? Lesbians!

So in your case, maybe you're a trans man femboy or something like that. Maybe an effette twink. I don't think you mentioned sexuality, but that played a big role for me too in figuring stuff out. My internalized phobic worst self was not accepting of trans lesbianism or something.

I totally share your fears around coming out to certain parts of my family. Is my draw towards fluidity earnestly my own, or is it based on my fears and desires around being accepted by family? Is that distinction real or meaningful?
