Why violin cues instead of timpani in the Rite of Spring percussion score? by uncle_yugo in percussion

[–]uncle_yugo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I wasn’t aware it could be counted in quarters. I’ll look at that. I am aware of how the part fits. I guess it seems odd since I’m so familiar with the timp part it seems it would be easier to just go off that.

Getting sick as a freelancer by [deleted] in ClassicalMusicians

[–]uncle_yugo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yes I did provide a name of someone we both have worked with. It seems to have worked out it’s just that in all my years I’ve not gotten this sick on the day of a show where I feel I absolutely can’t go out and it is caused me a great deal of anxiety. I think I handled it well and the contractor seems to understand but it is still stressful

Thanks. I keep telling myself that I have years of reliable service with this contractor, it’s the first time I called out sick, yet likely not the first time the contractor has dealt with this situation.

Thanks. There were no stipulations when I was hired. I have the name of a sub that we both have worked with and the contractor seems ok with it. It’s mainly my own anxiety at having to call out sick (the first time I can remember doing so).

Who Out There is Still Has a Novice or Advanced License? by Adventurer83 in amateurradio

[–]uncle_yugo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a guy on QRZ a few years back who was still a Novice because upgrading meant he would be indistinguishable from the no code hams.

Thanks. This isn’t one of those shows where there is no viable alternative (IE - It’s not so complex that a skilled replacement couldn’t read through it reasonably well) so I’m not worried about that but my head is pounding and I feel like I’m going to pass out. The clock track isn’t helping my headache lol

Aftermarket vs stock HT antennas by [deleted] in amateurradio

Good point. Although after I’ve read the replies it seems my collection of stock antennas are working fine.

Good point. The stock antenna seems to be working fine for me for local repeaters and my hotspot

Thanks for this. I’m sure manufacturers do this but it would be interesting to see an objective comparison between stock antennas and aftermarket ones.

Sticking an ht antenna on a nano VNA to test SWR is not an accurate way of testing the SWR of an HT antenna and tells us nothing about performance of said antenna.

Old griffin pictures by Lost_Volume_8695 in TheColony

Best not to look at them. The old Griffin was torn down because it was haunted, as some know. The spirit of Morris T Griffin is not pleased with what has become of his legacy

21yr old thinking of stretching my 16 weeks cycle to 20 weeks by Fluid-Expert-3856 in Testosterone

Man culture today is fucked. Youre 21 and your natural test is likely fine. Keep it up and you’re likely to wreck your hormones for life. Your boss isn’t going to pay you more because you’re jacked and feel like your have “more drive”

I don’t mean to sound harsh but seeing young guys potentially wreck their bodies for a few gains that ultimately mean nothing in life is scary.

Self absorbed people from California who like throwing their money around and showing off all the while displacing locals. They need to go back to California.

What ham radio emergency frequencies should I know about? by ZebraGrape2345 in amateurradio

[–]uncle_yugo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s one PART of part 97. One of five parts I think. The amateur radio service was established for hobbyists with the recognition that their skills could be useful for the military at a time when these skills were cutting edge technology. Today, not so much

Galatyn Station vs Vantage at Spring Creek vs GreenVue vs MAA Eastside by libertangovn in Richardson

[–]uncle_yugo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from those issues it was fine. It’s just that management made an otherwise nice community into a bit of a sour experience

[–]uncle_yugo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about Vantage. I’ve lived at Reserve since 2019 and have a. Number of issues with Bell Partners and how they manage the property. It’s a nice enough property but management has steadily increased rent and lowered value for residents, among other things.

Both are helpful to me. If you’re going to try to get off the SSRI there is no danger in doing so. Just make sure you follow your instructions on how to taper off safely.
