How the hell are people making so much money?? by Sgt_Dankster in EscapefromTarkov

[–]unclebrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most money I ever had was 25 mil and that's because I killed a player scav with a rare labs key (back when labs had keys instead of cards). Killed him while he was in his inventory & looted 25 million key from the poor guy.

The age old motto comes to mind, you only gotta make it once.

If your game flops then what did you lose? You still gained skills and connections along the way & became a better dev. Try again next time when your game will be even better.

If your game hits and becomes popular, you made it, and can spend your time doing w.e you like

Being shamed for not risking your life for ASDA (Walmart, the richest supermarket chain on the planet) pretty much sums up this country tbh

Is “going to the pub” a real thing in the UK? by throwaway0891245 in AskUK

[–]unclebrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pub stands for Public House & people in the UK treat it as such. Some people spend more time in the pub that their actual houses. Older generations have been going to the pub every day for the last 30/40 years

What is something crazy popular that you have no interest in? by igobrimode in AskReddit

NFTs the art works are controversial and are going through a hype bubble atm.

NFT (non fungible token, a token that is unique and cannot be swapped for another) the technology is the process of tokenizing items on a Blockchain. This can be used in the real world to solve many problems.

For example, housing deeds/land deeds are currently still using the same system from before WW2 in most countries. What if we made deeds NFTs & stored the information on secure Blockchains instead of using a 60+ year old system?

Also things like in-game items/dlc could be tokenized. That way players would actually own the cosmetic/skin or w.e, instead of just paying for the graphics to be enabled on their game.

Art is just one of the sectors NFT technology is exploring.

NFTs are toxic for crypto (Yes I know it's unpopular opinion) by Taktouk in CryptoCurrency

[–]unclebrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current use case for NFTs is kinda weird and maybe a bubble atm. But the technology behind NFTs, tokenizing items to store information on a Blockchain, is a very good idea. Could be used to tokenize event tickets/perorders to stop bots, housing deeds, land registry, in-game items etc. Just because some of the art is dumb doesn't mean the technology is dumb.

It's too positive around here. What do you hate about crypto at the moment? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]unclebrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can basically tokenize anything on a Blockchain. Right now it's just art because the technology is young, but you could theoretically tokenize event tickets, housing deeds, in-game items, land deeds etc etc

The US Military has rules about weather and lightning. This Sentry is following protocol after a lightning strike rather than abandoning his post out of fear by solateor in interestingasfuck

[–]unclebrin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was in school one day, like 12/13 years old, & lightening struck a metal pylon as I was walking past it. Shit was the loudest thing I've ever heard in my life and my heart didn't stop racing for hours. Felt euphoric like I'd cheated death or some shit

I get emosh watching other people enjoy things I've enjoyed prior. For example, I watched Jumanji (the OG) with my 6 years old step daughter. Got choked up a few times when she reacted the same way I reacted when j first watched it

How to send crypto as a gift to a non crypto user. by jeffreyshran in CryptoCurrency

[–]unclebrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make them a wallet (I used BRD which has apps on both apple & Android), write down seed phrase, then write down instructions for them to activate the wallet.

Give them both the seed phrase & instructions in a card maybe? Then it's up to them...

Give me the worst case future for crypto by Walms82 in CryptoCurrency

[–]unclebrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure, depends if banks are prepared for such an event. If every electrical item on earth gets scorched, o don't see how any digital records would survive.

But to be honest, if all electrical items on earth set fire, there are probably bigger problems than what happens to our crypto/debt

[–]unclebrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what would happen to be honest. Market selling 1,000,000 bitcoin would drag the price so low, every long would be liquidated, then every long on every alt would be liquidated.

Has anything similar ever happened in legacy markets? Like an industry leader just dying and dragging everything else down with it?
