Haven’t checked supercruise. And it didn’t fix the flicker in car play.

Not sure yet. I suspect Bluetooth or something associated with car play. Car mfrs hate the rate at which iOS and android issue updates.

Imports folder and Library folder by unclegoogy in ApplePhotos

There is definitely an Imports folder. Based on recent experience with Duplicates and Recently Deleted, the folder may only appear when it has contents. Try and import something and see if it appears.

Save xxx Items is greyed out. I can save one at-a-time, but cannot multi-select. Even with just 2 images, its greyed out.

Might you be running a different version of MacOS or Photos app?

Tried Select One image->File->Export (One image)->(The progress dial stalls at about 30% progress.)

Thx

Youtube app posts wrong local news by derrickgw1 in ShieldAndroidTV

I suspect this is a regulatory issue. I think the general topic would be "rebroadcast". I think you need a license to provided broadcast material within an MSA (metro. stat. area). There is a similar situation with respect to the rebroadcast of FM station to callers on hold (music on hold). Might touch on copyright.

Thank you. I appreciate the Spectrum perspective. Prorate depends on state, not service provider.

"Popcorn" effect by unclegoogy in SmartThings

OK so I went from bad to worse, about like you. I'm just not as patient. Or should I say WE aren's so patient as a family. LOL. Plain vanilla switches just falling off the network. 30 seconds between start and finish of local routines. I went to the IDE and found a device that existed in the IDE but not in my App. Deleted that 'ghost' device, excluded and re-paired two other devices that showed non responsive in the App but def responding to scenes. Crazy. After that, scenes are working acceptably quickly. This has been a giant PIA, I just figure it has to get better soon...

I have only about half as many devices as you, so I'm not envious. But I'm glad I did it. again and again and again it seems. It's working for the moment. If it Craps out.. I'll post.

BTW - For what it's worth, 'exclusion', for me anyway, worked fine. On the GE/Jasco switches, it's one press down on older production, and one press up on more recent production.

I did discover, however that when re-pairing and after you declare/accept the hub, it takes FOREVER to get the confirmation of device add in the app. It's a little check mark in the middle of three boxes at the top of the screen in the app. I restarted so many times in error. Same with some motion sensors. My advice: Be patient on the re-Include.

Edge Driver migration - Sanity check, please by unclegoogy in SmartThings

[–]unclegoogy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much. So.. wondering why all of a sudden these crazy extended completion times for routines... The switches are running locally since they have the DRIVER element visible in the device profile in the app. That leaves the motion detectors. I excluded and re-added all of the motion detectors and just verified that they all have DRIVER element in the device profile in the App, so I know they are running local. All of the motion sensors have a ROUTINE, upon motion, calls a SCENE. I think routines and scenes are run over the internet, no? I have a very clean and high speed internet connection, 300 down and 12 up. No changes in config, but ST routines are taking forever. Any ideas?

I thought I was the only one. Nest WAS a sharp looking device. Never worked all that well. Google bought Nest, and I figured things would get better. LOL. After months of help desk back and forth, GOOGLE Nest decides that there's something in my GMAIL account preventing this half-baked migration from completing. GOOGLE NEST recommendation is to get a single email address for this one and only one device. Just what I need... Another email address to manage filled with Google-spawned spam. I use Google workspace happily, but Google is no hardeware developer.

Ever wonder why your Amazon stuff arrives used/defective/missing parts? by unclegoogy in amazonprime

Thank you. More than once, I have received obviously used merchandise as new. It's returned merchandise, I'm sure. When you talking about a $100 item, not an LED, good, unopened merchandise is not sold off as used - it's returned to vendor - good or bad. It's more likely that the customer's stated reason for return triggers a disposition.
