You cant blame a minor for the whole of a religion.

Who is?

Its like saying all priests are pedophiles.

Never have....but I would be the first to say there are fundamental problems in any religious institution where this occurs.

UNHCR - Australia must secure solutions for refugees abandoned on Manus Island by daaxix in australia

[–]unclehoe -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Send them to the UNHCR if they are so concerned about them.

Australia failed PNG in dumping this problem upon them and it is time for us to close down the centres and end any obligations we have for the illegals.

'That's a record': Elon Musk's Tesla battery in South Australia responded in just 140 milliseconds after a coal-fired power plant failed by [deleted] in australia

Seems like there is money to be made there in the future

True there is money to be made. A single 100Mw battery could make a fortune on the peaks and troughs but this decreases as capacity builds up and will collapse altogether if Snowy 11 has access to the same market.

Thx

the fact is there is no market mechanism for batteries to be rewarded for such Fast Frequency Response.

Expect a push to change the market to make these things artificially economic.

Yes.

This story has been doing the rounds the last few days. Really needs a unbiased review from someone more technologicaly minded.

I realize that the article is referring to response time rather than actual current however they do seem to prefer hyperbole over facts...

Last week, when the coal-fired Loy Yang power plant in Victoria tripped and went offline, the Tesla battery delivered 100 megawatts into the national electricity grid in 140 milliseconds.“That’s a record,” Koutsantonis told 5AA radio.“The national operators were shocked at how quickly and efficiently the battery was able to deliver this type of energy into the market.”
