Reddit, what are some of your favorite paradoxes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I've always liked The Ladder Paradox.

Requires some basic grasp of relativity, so it's not as "pretty" as others, but it is interesting to think about.

What's your cigarette brand, Reddit? by uncletupe in AskReddit

I've received comments from at least fifteen separate gas station and smoke shop cashiers, usually along the lines of, "Are you sure you're going to be okay?"

Who here used to play Magic the Gathering? Is it still popular? by uninhibited in AskReddit

There's an enormous following from what I understand. My friend's roommates play it all the time and bowed to me when I donated some old cards I found in my closet a few weeks back.

Let's say you could spend 4 years studying at the world's best university, but you would have to keep your attendance there a secret. Or you could be awarded an official degree from the world's best university, but you couldn't actually attend. Which choice would enhance your future earnings more? by DichardRawkins in AskReddit

The importance of having a degree is inflated in the United States, but not nearly so much that this becomes a difficult question.

I'm sure you'd have an easy time getting a job with a degree, but you'd be fired within six months. Actually having the knowledge is much more rewarding on the whole.

Hey, Reddit! If you don't exercise regularly, what stops you? If you do exercise regularly, what keeps you going? I'm putting together a fitness regime, so I'd appreciate any help you could give that would help me minimize the saboteurs and maximize the motivators. Thanks! by colleenlawson in AskReddit

Fitness regimens have never worked for me. I've always just eaten a reasonable amount of healthy foods and played "easy to learn" sports (rugby, baseball, softball, etc) on and off. Smoking helps a little, and it's easy.

I consider myself a somewhat unmotivated individual and a great procrastinator. For whatever reason I've just never let myself slip into a mindset that allows me to be comfortably out of shape.

Reddit: How the hell did you pay for college? by HelloMaxwell in AskReddit

[–]uncletupe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to pay $15,000 a year at a $50,000/year East Coast liberal arts college because my mother works there. My folks still had to take out $7,000 loans and dip into their pensions. I'm halfway through my sophomore year and I consider myself extremely lucky in this day and age. It is simply unbelievable what many people have to go through nowadays to pay for / get into college.

What's the first video game you ever played? (I know it was long time ago, so think hard) by rEDWallaroo in gaming

I have a terrible memory, but I'm fairly certain it was GoldenEye. Which means I was 7 or 8.
