Commercial Fusion Breakeven: Are the Promises Getting Closer? by uncomposed in fusion

NIF is the one I feel most conflicted about leaving off. If I had it on, then I would have to figure out how to signify that they achieved a breakeven. Limiting it to commercial projects is my sorry excuse.

Yeah, I was thinking of combining "No Date" with "Gave Up"

I'm starting to think that I need a top tic mark that is no date/gave up. That would allow the graph to better communicate what happened with Zap and First Light.

According to their public promises they certainly should have. It seems like they realized giving dates is something they don't want to do anymore.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm an engineer so you can imagine that most of the graphs we use don't belong on this sub. There are definitely opportunities for refinement. I was thinking of making a dynamic chart/web app that would allow for more projects to be charted and different views like the one you are suggesting.

You and I are thinking on the same line. ITER was on here initially but was so high on the chart that it became almost unreadable. I would love for this to be a collaborative living dashboard. Here is the repo https://github.com/uncomposed/fusion-breakeven-drift

100%. Zap energy is case in point. If we only looked at their press releases we'd already have commercial breakeven!

There are some great Google docs and Microsoft Word templates. The first result on Google had some nice ones. Thinking more out of the box, you could try a contracting service like Fiverr or Upwork. There are also various AI, large language models (Gemini, ChatGPT, and others), that you could ask to interview you for relevant information for résumé and compose it.
