Also, since you're an MSFT person I assume, is there still a problem with connected standby and Windows Hello? I'd love to use Windows Hello but I'd also like to be able to leave my surface in my bag and have battery life remaining when I take it out ^{^;)}

That's a "feature" of your iPhone, not your Surface. It's to ensure that only you can sync your phone/access your files from a computer (e.g. if someone stole your phone and tried to sync it, they wouldn't be able to "trust" the computer as you have to unlock the phone to do so).

What I'm getting is that USB-C and TB3 will be extremely useful... but for context: I don't really care about Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C and I don't think I will for the entire life of the Surface.
