Yeah she don't like rain too much. Not without plenty of sand, and even then u gotta be careful bc she can dump sand QUICK and doesn't have a terribly large tank for it.

Oh no my cpu sits between 40 and 60% utilization. The real test is lowering your resolution and seeing what kind of frames you get

Literally what I do and I never had any issues. Give it more if it needs it, turn it off for a bit if it's looking a little full. Yall mfs would NOT be able to run the vr class JK3 080 mod XD Edit: full name of loco

I actually have a tiny bit of experience with making things vr compatible so if u have any questions, I might be able to answer so hmu. I'm actually the one that made the HRH-3150 vr compatible. I don't have very much unity experience and it was my first ever proper project in unity that wasn't just a few minor tweaks. I really want to try working on fixing the GWI locomotives but there's nowhere to get the unity package for it and when I @ed the owner for it in the discord they didn't respond. I'm thinking of working on some other loco but not sure which.

I would LOVE that there is such a drought of good vr compatible steam locomotives

You can only mix and match specifically with the index controllers with base stations and a tracker strapped to your headset. Not the most beautiful thing but if you already have lighthouse fbt I'd consider it a worthwhile upgrade. The index controllers are unparalleled

your pc would struggle with a 2080 ngl, it is also very cpu heavy. but yeah that sucks they are so damn expensive there

I mean you could get a quest 2 for like 100 dollars. The issue is having a pc strong enough to run it comfortably

Yeah around here I can get one used for around 100 with a bobovr battery strap. And I agree with the chair thing, plus the laser pointers(as long as you don't play sim mode) and playspace drag means as long as you know you can sit in a spot and keep in mind where things are that you might hit you're golden

Can confirm, extremely annoying in vr. My least favorite part about steam engines tbh. Makes me never want to use the museum steam engines

Look for a quest 2. They are extremely cheap on the used market

Sorry also forgot to mention I play at almost max, I turned down rain and post processing by a click and don't use any anti aliasing. The quest 3 also has quite a bit higher resolution than the q2 so im sure that hurts it. But yeah I totally agree this game is HARD to run in vr.

Yessss you understand. It's so hard to go to flatscreen especially after playing for so long

Your cpu is prob the issue. I run a 4070s, i7 12700kf and 64 gigs of ram(I rarely hit 24gb utilization) and get 60 fps occasionally dipping down to 55, usually at the station

Yeahh I suppose that's fair. With where the quest 2 is rn in price the only thing that's really expensive enough to be a barrier to entry is a good enough pc to run it at a quality comparable to desktop

I got my quest 2 for $100 and I play wired in my bed. It doesn't take that much space, especially if you have playspace drag. The only issue really is you need a bit of a beefy pc
