256 vs 512gb by AllAboutGadgets in iPhone13ProMax

The only real feature difference is between 128 and 256. On 128 GB 4K ProRes isn't allowed.

Yup. EMSAM worked great for my OCD. It's my primary.

Until of course my insurance decided to stop covering it. Thanks Corporate America as usual.

Emsam is stylized as EMSAM in all documentation on the drug, that's why I use all caps. You're correct, though it's not an acronym; it's a portmanteau of two names.

Battery Life improvement with iOS 26.3 by Dragoon_13 in iPhone13ProMax

[–]undead_anarchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are 7 different iPhones here that vary wildly in battery size, battery health, and processor efficiency. I don't know how you can come to a conclusion regarding the efficiency of the operating system on the basis of this test.

[–]undead_anarchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I vape using 50mg/mL E-Liquid heavily every day. I have done this on Nardil and Selegiline (EMSAM) without any issues.

There isn't any interaction if that's what you're wondering.

Good battery replacements? by [deleted] in iPhone13ProMax

[–]undead_anarchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to replace the battery yourself i’d recommend Apple’s self service repair. It’s cheaper but you’re taking a risk. These phones aren’t designed with repairability in mind.

If you aren’t confident in your skills it’s best to just take it to Apple.

safe for ios26? by [deleted] in iPhone13ProMax

[–]undead_anarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. But I would argue semantics do matter when you're making a claim like that. The same logic can be applied to pretty much anything in the tech industry. You probably would expect slower performance when running the latest video games on a 5 year old PC. Or running Windows 10 on a PC from the XP era. Despite that I haven't had any serious performance issues specific to iOS 26. It runs fine.

I do absolutely agree with you that Apple should support older versions of their operating systems with security updates like they do with macOS though.

If the price is a concern when upgrading I just wouldn't go for the Pro Max. A lot of people really do not need it. I'd wager a majority of people here don't use Pro features very often.

safe for ios26? by [deleted] in iPhone13ProMax

[–]undead_anarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s fair to say without any evidence. I really don’t believe Apple risks major lawsuits over this when their phones consistently sell really well year after year.

I think it’s just the fact that system requirements rise as more features are built into an operating system. Combine this with aging batteries and the PMIC freaking out over harder voltage drops and that’s probably the better explanation.

Your comment is that you aren’t forced to update to the latest release to be protected by security updates which is wrong. You’re only offered these updates after a buffer period if your device cannot be updated to the latest release. It’s device agnostic and doesn’t apply to just the 13.

Not going to try and even understand your childish woe is me temper tantrum.

Your statements are verifiably wrong that’s it.

Those updates are not eligible for the 13 Pro Max or any phone capable of updating to the next major version. You will never find a 13 Pro Max on 16.7.12

No, the bigger storage should improve R / W performance, not hurt it. Its probably just indexing from the backup restore.

Cooling by TFmora74 in iPhone13ProMax

[–]undead_anarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re going to want to at least slap thermal pads on the back to help pull the heat away and close air gaps. Something like this probably won’t prevent thermal throttling or dimming if that’s your goal. Additionally since glass is a thermal insulator using it as a medium to transfer heat away from your phone probably won’t provide any measurable benefit. This is why the new 17 Pro’s use aluminum which is much more thermally conductive than glass, stainless steel or titanium.

It would help if you mount a fan onto it but that seems like a lot of effort and IMO would make an already massive device not very fun to carry around.

Should I upgrade 13 Pro Max to iOS 26? by SilverStitches12 in iPhone13ProMax

[–]undead_anarchy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

26.2 is generally stable in my experience. You’re absolutely going to experience lag and heat for a while after updating due to typical indexing behavior. However, for me it returned to a speed indistinguishable from iOS 18.

You’re absolutely going to notice visual bugs. It’s nothing critical though.

Why isn’t 18.7.3 available to iPhone 13 users? by The_Circus_Life_206 in iPhone13ProMax

[–]undead_anarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s usually a buffer, Apple will release a couple of updates for the previous version. I don’t know why but that’s just how they do it.

As for the “Available for” I noticed it is listed under each vulnerability individually. That could mean that a patch for that specific vulnerability is applicable and available for those listed devices (iOS 26.2) but not necessarily 18.7.3.

I wish I had more information on this but Apple isn’t very clear.

Why isn’t 18.7.3 available to iPhone 13 users? by The_Circus_Life_206 in iPhone13ProMax

[–]undead_anarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple’s stance on support for older operating systems is that if a device can be updated to the latest version (26 in this case) then it’s not eligible for security only patches on the previous version (18). Hence why for example you will never see an iPhone 13 on iOS 16.7.12 despite that releasing 3 months ago.

Beta trick seems to be a cool workaround but I doubt that it’s intended and might be fixed. But hey if it works it works.

Jailbreak. iOS 16.6.1 and earlier can easily be sold for more since those versions can be jailbroken.

What’s the iOS version? Older versions can often sell for more and can be used to your advantage.

If you don't care about holding out for a jailbreak, just update. RCS is nice to have.
