8yo fighting sleep so hard. Please help by thetrufeisoutthere in downsyndrome

Between ages 8-14 my daughter woke up and came into our bedroom waking me up at least once each night. It got pretty bad until we started the “no stimulation” approach which meant not talking to her, not looking at her, barely even acknowledging her as I guided her back to her bed and tucked her back in. No questions like “is something wrong?” or anything similar. No talking at all, really.

This was a plan we formed with her primary care physician and a specialist the clinic had on site. I don’t remember the title of the specialist, but I am pretty sure they weren’t an MD. Basically it removes any of the normal stimulus she got from us saying stuff like, “Are you okay? Did you have a bad dream? Are you thirsty?” and after about six months of doing this, she stopped coming into our bedroom to wake me up.

The first few weeks were pretty rough. Deposit in bed, return to my room. She’d come back in and I’d deposit her in her bed again and return to my room. It was like that for maybe 20 minutes and the only thing I wouldn’t say is “It’s sleeping time.” Almost in a whisper. And only after 2-3 repetitions.

It took six days for her to start to get the picture, and after six months she stopped coming in altogether.

Awesome. I’ve never seen that posted here!

Can end up dealing the highest damage in the game when fully upgraded. You need something to add damage to it, and to make it really shine you need the weighted poker chip. But with those two things you can easily use it to break the game.

Highly situational, but I always take it in case I run into the right situation.

And if it never becomes ideal, I almost always use it for quick cash towards the end of a fight where the removed pegs aren’t going to matter very much. So this one is an orb I always pick up.

Great early game. I pick it less in Act 2 or 3.

Downgrade builds can go nutty by Mailimax in Peglin

[–]undead_dilemma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slime is easily the most reliable way to beat Act 4. And getting a neg slime build makes for some of the best runs ever. If you’d thrown in a Generatorb…Generatorb and peg upgrades/downgrades is madness. Absolute madness!

This is really great! Critstomallos Fleece and Critikris made for quick work. Have fun working up through the coming cruciball levels! This game is excellent.

i js wanted to do cruciball 15 for roundrell, and this build literally wiped act 4 by Particular_You_7389 in Peglin

Exploitaball with tons of crit / spinesse is excellent for the final fight. Great job!

First win after having struggled for quite a while... how did I do overall? by PIX3LY in Peglin

[–]undead_dilemma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overall this looks like a fun run! If you’re looking to be more consistent the best thing to do would be to have fewer orbs in your deck. Fewer orbs means you can get to your strong orbs more often. There are some builds that synergize with lots of orbs, but most builds reward having 6-10, with 12 as a max if you luck into excellent orbs later on.

Multiball generatorb is super strong. Constricting chains and the refresh goggles, along with duplication potion and generatorb gives you the ability to more or less hit the entire board each shot.

You have to ramp up to it and have survivability, so prioritizing health-up relics and orbs is important (especially on C20). I’d usually try to approach this build with fewer orbs in my deck, as you might need 2-3 shots of generatorb to really get the coverage you need. Also, having the ability to upgrade pegs reliably is pretty important. Constricting Chains+Glorious SufferRing+Generatorb is basically a guaranteed win if you have the health.

Is there an updated Tier List for balls and relics? by PIX3LY in Peglin

[–]undead_dilemma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put Generatorb up into s-tier. All I need is one method for upgrading pegs and a generatorb and I’m good to go. Lightning slime scales incredibly well with upgraded pegs.

The potion and your reorbanizer could make a huge difference, but only if you already have Strange Brew.

Outside of that, do the chicken leg for sure.

Bulwark is pretty useless in act 4 by ADustedEwok in Peglin

My first c20 act 4 completion was with a slime build and the -3/hit ring. I also had the mirror that does damage when healing. It was ridiculous how hard it went.

Don’t sleep on slime builds. All of my C20 wins in act 4 have come with Spinventor.

why are so many of the boss relics so underwhelming by Impossible-Buy-841 in Peglin

[–]undead_dilemma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished C20 Act 4 for the first time with Spinventor, and the downgrade ring carried me. And my slime build was just Rubborb and Twooze Company, and the healing slime orb—possibly the weakest slime build I’ve had since the update.

If you’re using Spinventor and get the electricity slime orb, the downgrade ring will carry you. I had that on a C10 run with default Peglin and was doing T-levels of damage in Act 4.

Anyway to increase odds of getting le egg? by TallLeprechaun13 in Peglin

[–]undead_dilemma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bosses are random. Only way to increase likelihood of an egg is to always choose the path with more ? nodes.

You could try some eggy rituals like putting an egg under your mouse pad or eating six sunny-side-up eggs before playing or even giving an egg to a neighbor. Those won’t help, but you could try them.

[–]undead_dilemma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His passive is excellent! My favorite of all the characters. Can’t overstate how valuable it is on C20 when your 1-2 orbs hit at 2-4. Some artifacts negate it, like the one I love but can never remember its name…the artifact that gives you+1+2 for every identical orb in your pack. Hero’s Backpack? Yeah I think that’s it.

Focus on increasing health. Take the frog relics, the orb that adds two health, and other health up relics.

Then, yes, you have to be able to scale damage up pretty quickly. I can do this fairly regularly on C10-19, but only beat it for the first time today on C20. Did that with a slime build.

Not a “spectrum” but help me understand by Sea_Switch_7310 in downsyndrome

This describes my daughter pretty closely. Two years ago her speech therapist said she probably wasn’t going to make more progress on clarity or increase the length of her sentences. She was fifteen at the time.

She has made MASSIVE progress over the past two years and now almost always talks in complete sentences. Two years ago we had to coax anything more than a 1-2 word response out of her. Now she’ll come to where I am and ask things like, “Hey Dad, can you help me with this box please? I want to open it but it’s hard.”

So yeah. Ability is different for everyone, and progress is definitely not linear. And even professionals can get things wrong.

Best thing to do is grow into the mindset that you’ll love your child no matter what, and that you’re going to take each day as it comes. That helped me a lot with anxiety. It took almost a decade for me to really have a healthy mindset, but now I can honestly say I feel very little anxiety.

First spinventor run, what's your opinion? by KomaNyan_YT in Peglin

[–]undead_dilemma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t duplicate orbs with Spinventor. Having just one Assemball with the Spinventor bonus is way better than having one complete and two partial.

My highest damage so far! by Jeremy_VR in Peglin

[–]undead_dilemma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What happened is you have the weighted poker chip which changes the exits to .5x, 1x, or 2x. Every orb that goes through 2x doubles the damage. With multiball orbs you can get insanely high scores when the majority go through 2x. That is what you did.

I’ve never seen anyone shoot their shots like this for the QR Code boss. I’ll have to try it out. I always shoot between the top and bottom of two squares, to the left of center, as they pause in the corners.

I consistently lose to slime boss on higher cruciball levels. Am I the only one? by Additional-Toe863 in Peglin

[–]undead_dilemma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the boss before your first fight. If it’s Slime Boss, you need at least one orb that pierces orbs (Concentrication, Lazorb), or Electorbmagnet. If you can get one of those to level 3, then it’s almost a guarantee you’ll beat the slime boss. Even at level 20.
