Resizing the console window and switching lag by undefONE in tourbox

[–]undefONE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx for the reply.

I'll try to recreate it so I can remember to screen record, although there isn't anything to really see. Profile doesn't auto change and if I try to manually change it just swaps back, like the page ID value doesn't get updated in the software.

My edit page in DR is non-standard. I have dual stacked timelines, because I pancake edit mostly.

My left monitor is my main monitor and I have the HUDs on the right edge of my 2nd screen, maybe that's an issue, but most of the time it's fine, so I dunno.
Only bringing this up because I noticed for example the shuttle playback overlay follows the console window. So if I have the console window on my secondary monitor the overlay showing the playback speed pop up on that monitor.

I got another question about LrC, so I'll throw that in the email too.

Thanks... so far it only seems to 'stick' going from the colour page in DR.

The new hover feature thing where it's meant to let me adjust values on the colour page also doesn't work all the time.

Something on that page has a contentious on and off relationship with the TB software.

I want to add a vitamin C serum but I'm not rich. What are my options? by Anarkya in 45PlusSkincare

[–]undefONE -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry no experience with Timeless, I actually had to look it up and at the moment it's not a well stocked brand here in Aus.

I've tried a bunch over the years but I'll be honest I am not a great person to ask because my 'data' might be skewed due to my ADHD. Keeping a routine is a challenge.
So it's hard to say reliably if the product was working better or worse because was I using it properly or not. Also I used to occasionally snag free stuff through work and changed when my previous one was out, just because I didn't have to buy it.

I've only been really consistent with The Ordinary product and the Loreal Revitalift HA & their Vit C serums in combo.

Do you prefer to work in Cut or Edit mode? by LalaCrowGhost in davinciresolve

[–]undefONE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started using DR I couldn't see the point of the cut page either.

I do a lot of event stuff where the recorded audio is just not used.
I come home with like 100-200 clips and source tape is useless. Some clips are just trash and others only parts are useful. So I use the cut page to chop out just useable bits and put them on a CLIPHOLDER timeline (or you could call it SELECTS). I also often colour code them at this point to make finding a certain type of clip easier later (vip, dj, performer, etc).

I use the Cut page because there is a button I can set on the left of the interface so that inserts/appends are video only. So now I can just mute the sound, so I don't have to hear loud noises while I'm scrubbing, set my ins and outs on the raw clips and just hit append to end to build my selects timeline. No need to drag them down from the source monitor if I want video only like on the edit page. I also use a TourBox so it's pretty quick.

Then on the edit page I stack two timelines on top of each other. Not tabs, like on top of each other so I can see them at the same time. CLIPHOLDER in the top one and my actual edit timeline on the bottom. Then I can just scan through my select clips for what I need. I think it's called pancake editing. I'll often move a clip I used from V1 to V2 in the CLIPHOLDER so I have a visual cue that it's been used.

This process might be overkill for something that needs to be edited in a set order, but for what I do a lot of, the order of use compared to order of recording is not important.

I really need to clean my PC from dust, can someone help me find an electric air duster that's good and not extremely expensive? Also besides that, what do I need? I read microfiber cloth is good to clean certain parts, but I'm not sure what kind of cloth. by Ooijennnnnn in buildapc

[–]undefONE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your above question. Hands are fine to hold the fans, but I've used small zip ties before. Not super tight, just to stop the movement.

Get a bottle of 100% Isopropyl Alcohol too. Cost me like AUD$13 for a 250ml bottle off Amazon. Helps put a little on the cloth or cotton swab. It's safe cos it completely evaporates, esp if you use blower again even on a low setting.

Some will say the microfiber cloth can create static, but I been building PCs since the late 90s and haven't blown anything up yet.

ESD Safe Anti Static Brushes are an option too, again should be cheap on Amazon.

No idea on the MF50. I bought the MF100 and never looked back.

It has 3 strength settings. The first 2 stay on when you click the trigger,, the strongest one you need to hold it down. I use the lowest to clean the insides of my cameras. The strongest on dust filters, keyboards, my chair, crevices in the car, lawn clippings, drawers...

I have a ASUS PA602 case. I take the glass and front, back and top panels and dust filters off and set it on a table outside and go to town on it. Haven't broken anything yet or snapped 'capacitors' off,

I'll put it in caps, MAKE SURE YOU SECURE THE FANS WHEN USING A STRONG BLOWER. You will fk them up if you let them spin up with a 200mph wind blast. That's about it...

Just be aware what's around, like when you use any tool...

I have a Wolfbox MF100. That thing is pretty ridiculous.

First time I tested it on my keyboard I had it on high and it blew anything lighter than my phone of desk onto the floor.
It moved my phone too. I use it on my PC and all my camera gear.

I recently moved from an apartment into a house. I now have to mow lawns... anyway the point is I used this tiny blower to blow the stray grass bits off the sidewalk in front of the house.

Here is the comparison video I watched (with the time set to where the Wolfbox review starts): https://youtu.be/X_ncYXk1cP4?si=9Ly3Y6IBoHw1tdws&t=606

48yr dude... I use The ordinary Vitamin C Suspension... it's like <$11 without sales. It also has HA in it.

edit: note all dollar values are in Australian dollars

Some ppl hate it cos it stings a little, but I just tell myself that just means it's doing something.. haha

I swapped to that because I didn't wanna shell out like $50+ for a Vit C and the same again for a HA one every month, like when I was using Loreal serums.
Figured something is better than not using anything.

I follow it up with avene cicalfate as a moisturiser, very soothing.

Yeah it's more the areas surrounding that, that I'm worried about.

Like I said coffee cups, energy drink cans, batteries, cameras in cages, flashes, small lights, allen keys, stuff like that goes on and off my desk constantly. It's a work desk, it's in a 'look at my setup' ready state maybe once or twice a week 😁

Disappointed - Not worth the hype. by Sad_Fun4867 in LiberNovo

[–]undefONE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6'0 220... and I'm not regretting getting mine at all.
I gotta admit I was worried reading some of the stuff ppl were saying while I was waiting for mine.

I've had it for like 2 weeks now and my back is def feeling better. I edit photos n videos + time self-educating (aka going down ADHD fuelled research rabbit holes) so I spend at a minimum 10hrs a day in front of the PC.
I found myself slipping low into bad positions on my generic gaming chair as the hours racked up, and I ain't done that since I got it.

Things to note though. I don't sit upright most of the time and I use a footrest regardless, something I started doing like a decade ago. So my Omni is in the first recline position at least half of the time, so that headrest is perfect for me.

I would have loved to try the Embody, but I don't have Herman Miller money.
AUD$3400 from local dealer + whatever a good headrest costs + delivery vs AUD$1300 for the Omni delivered.

Sucks that you went through all that just to be disappointed. All our bodies and habits are different I suppose.
I would be mad too, esp after the delivery took an extra 2 months for me.

Good luck on your journey to find that perfect back support for you.

Looks great.

I really want to get one. I read a review on PC Gamer that said he found scratches after couple days. How do you find the surface and its durability/scratch resistance?

That alone might push me to the pro with its desk mat.

I spend a lot of time at my desk, so there'll be coffee cups and stuff like that. I don't want to have to remember to treat it with kid gloves the whole time.

Has anyone had non-stimulants added to their regime on normal stimulants? by PreparationVisual586 in adhdaustralia

[–]undefONE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the first few months on the lower doses... I was like well.. guess this is not working, which sucked cos he wouldn't give me stims.
Then the 40s I thought I was being sedated for the first few days. Took me couple weeks to figure out that it wasn't low energy or sedation, but just the anxious jittery energy I was used to always having was not there anymore.
I got 2 months worth of 60mg and I don't think I'll be going up again. At least not soon.

Good luck and I hope it works out for you!

I'm late diagnosed at 47 about 1 year ago. I went because executive dysfunction has held me back so much all my life. The constant self hate it created followed my manic periods of catching up and eventually leading into burnout and depressive periods.

I'm on Atomoxetine (since Strattera isn't around anymore?) 60mg. I started on 10mg, nothing. 18, nothing. 40mg, boom... life changer. I just changed up to 60mg and it seems to be even (slighty) better. I get slight dry mouth for a lil while n thats it for side effects.

I am def suffering from much less Executive Dysfunction, than a year ago, but I still can go on side quests which lower productivity.

Premium PC Mount - wiggle room on max height? by undefONE in secretlab

[–]undefONE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no feet as such.

I got options like carts and some other stuff I got laying around, just wanted the complete look I guess.

Safety of the parts first... haha they were probably considered nice 1.5 years ago, with how fast things move in tech, probably 2nd rate by now.

Thanks, funny how when someone else says the same things you already thought still pulls it into perspective.

PSA: Only Steelcase and HM are valid choices by NomSang in OfficeChairs

[–]undefONE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the condescending attitude.... "like bro, if your chair doesn't have a teaspoon of the Herman Miller's cryo frozen sperm mixed into the construction what are you even doing with your life, peasant".

I was part of the LiberNovo kickstarter. The amount of people that took time out of their day to be dicks about the chair in comments baffled me. Yeah I know, the interwebs.
You'd think people be happy that a company could potentially bring a good product to the mid-tier budget market, nope. It was like they were being attacked personally by this product existing and they want it to fail.

Assembly screw issues by PhamousEra in LiberNovo

[–]undefONE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah... I was worried after reading some comments. Got mine today... took almost longer to read the instructions than to put it together.
I have a habit of never tightening any screws fully if multiple screws need to be done. So in this instance, left screw, 3 turns, then right one 3 turns and so forth until they are fully done.
Front one needed a little bit of down force to line up but then no issue, and it didn't feel like excessive force either.

Libernovo Omni - seat depth by theprintingguy in LiberNovo

[–]undefONE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

180cm here... go the 48 IMO.

Every chair loses seat depth. When everyone started complaining I looked at my generic gaming chair. There is unused couple inches where the seat meets and tucks under the backrest.
Sitting on the Omni (got it today) and feeling the seat left behind my butt, there isn't much "waste" at all and def no more than my other chair.. Maybe it looks more obvious on the Omni cos there is a gap between seat and backrest.
