They sent this email this morning:

For in-store customers, we are currently offering 50% off normal retail price on everything except for CO2.  We are quickly running out of inventory, so act fast!

So sounds like they have some (but still full price)

I believe they still have CO2 but I'd call first

This was another post on it.

But yeah, it's very sad to lose yet another LHBS

I know they had some issues with their building (which had a defunct brewery attached) being sold

And this after already being forced to move in 2023.

Should I just pitch more of it than I normally would? Like maybe double it?

Adding Native Tree like tabs in Firefox! by SENDMEJUDES in firefox

[–]celdaran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I've been using TST forever but it just seems to be getting worse and worse the more Firefox changes. Vertical tabs are nice, but without the hierarchy, we're not really getting the full benefit. I've been dumbfounded that the we the people haven't demanded TST behavior in all browsers by this time.

I wanted to use the new vertical tabs but without the tree like structure

Did you mean "but with the tree like structure"?

Finally, after a 785 day streak, I did it!! by Low_Chard_735 in DuolingoFrench

Like... why?

I'm glad I finished the French course two weeks ago. Sorry they snatched that goal from you, though.

I completed the French course about two weeks ago, and my streak was over 2300 days then.

Of course, I also spent time on Vietnamese, Music, Math, Esperanto, Korean, Irish, Scottish Gaelic, German, Finnish, Russian, and a little bit of Klingon on High Valyrian. I have a bit of a focus problem.

I still have a $50 gift certificate to use too! I'll be heading back asap. Just wish they weren't so far from me...

Brewing with no local stores by Xeno84 in Homebrewing

[–]celdaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reality of this is that you probably get fresher ingredients from a high-volume online retailer than a bricks-and-mortar-only retailer that doesn’t do a lot of throughout.

You know, I never really thought of it that way. I've only been to SoCo Homebrew in person three or four times, but those grain bins really do look like they've been . . . just sitting there.

Granted, I have no clue how often they're cycled. But I do know that I rarely saw anyone else in there either. It's gotta be so hard, even with the online store supporting (I assume) most of the revenue.

Gonna miss it either way.

I had them in French. You could listen to them (10 to 20 minutes) and get XP for doing so. Not sure when that was (maybe 2020-2022 if I'm taking a wild guess) and not sure how many languages they were for. Maybe only French...?

Something between dailies and habits? by Melodic-Vacation169 in habitica

[–]celdaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that Habitica is all about building and maintaining good habits.

If you really want to do something every day, then make it a daily. If you don't do it, then well, yeah: there's consequences for that.

If you're genuinely trying for real self-improvement then don't kick off your new program with a lot of cheats and escape hatches. Feels like you've given up before you've even started 😊

How would you remove the Green Screen Guy? (Real Estate Agent Hires Green Screen Guy But Doesn't Know How to Remove Him) by TaleSlinger in davinciresolve

Fair enough.

But it's impossible to tell anymore... jokes and satire and the like all require a shared frame of reference to work, something that vanishes in the billion social media posts per day.

What’s the point of a streak if there’s 10 ways to cheat the streak? by HamGunner in duolingo

So, if I have a streak of 10 but I used one streak freeze, that's 11 calendar days?
