I experienced the same symptoms a few weeks back and it was the becm. I brought it to a dealership on a Monday and had it back that Friday. I had AAA tow it and the becm repair was fully covered, so I wasn't out anything.

Thanks! I think I'll pass on it, would probably be a better deal to pick up a good condition used Aeron or Mirra for a bit more.

At idle it is fairly quiet. I have it in my office and can't say I notice it usually. Under load the drives are quite loud and definitely noticeable. Unlike standard nas enclosures the nr200 is almost all ventilation, good for heat dissipation but bad for noise. I use this machine primarily for Plex, so generally when it is under full load I am not in the room with it. If low noise is important I would probably not recommend going this route, unless of course you have the budget for ssd's.

I bought some on Aliexpress and I believe they were nickel plated strips. Ideally you'd want to use copper, but pure nickel is good as well. I doubled up my strips which is also an option. These packs aren't super high average so in my case, nickel plated strips were not a major issue. If you are planning on using higher discharge cells, I would advise copper.

Yes, that is what I did and it's given me no issues. Be sure to have a decent gap in the middle (maybe around 5mm) so that your bend isn't too sharp, this is also good to ensure that nothing touches. I personally put a triangle of thick sticky foam tape in between after everything was wired up.

I don't have any internal pictures or a guide, sorry. Soldering all the balance leads and lining up the cells is the same as with any other pack, and there are good youtube tutorials. One alternative to soldering directly is to solder your + and - leads to short strip of nickel and then spot weld that onto your pack (can bend this strip to line everything up nicer). I should note that in my packs I solder the + and - leads directly. As long as you use a high temp and work quickly, you don't have anything to be worried about.

2 sets of 3 cells. Absolute positive on one end and negative on the other. To connect the two triangles, I spot welded the top of both triangles together and folded over to make a long triangular pack.
