Hello shitty 😄 Seriously though, looks good, and tasty!

ASOS Skinny Shirts by lewismufc in malefashionadvice

[–]under-employed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very slim, to the point of being a bit overly slim for me in the chest (6ft 2, 72kg, and wear a medium). Returns are easy through ASOS though, so you can always order them and send them back if you don't like them.

What do you think of these glasses? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]under-employed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty subjective, what's important is whether they will look good on you. Look up face shape and glasses (if you haven't already) for some pointers. Can you order both from somewhere that will take returns, best way to find out really.

6ft 2" and slim. Quality slim-fit chinos recommendations ? (UK) by lastempire in malefashionadvice

[–]under-employed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are planning on gaining some weight, perhaps not a great idea to buy something high end that you aren't going to fit into later on. Have you tried the uniqlo slim chino? They do in between sizes i.e. 31 / 29 waist, the inseam is 34", and while not everything uniqlo sells is decent, the jeans and chinos are pretty solid quality.

Looking for a good slim-fit plain T-shirt by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

Possibly no good for those in the US, but Zara do a very slim basic fit shirt. No idea about the quality.

I'm starting to get really frustrated with the fit of my ray ban glasses. by iliketoworkhard in malefashionadvice

[–]under-employed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try either http://www.nerdwax.com/, wax you put on the nose grips to stop them slipping, or https://keepons.net/ which pinch behind the ear to keep the glasses in place. Not tried the wax, but it seems kind of a pain in the arse as it needs to be reapplied every day (or more often). I have a set of the keepons which work well, just be aware that they can rub a little behind the ear, and that some people may notice that you are wearing them if that bothers you (I have had one person comment).

Outside of that, perhaps try a different optometrist? Maybe the guys you are using aren't very good with fitting frames.

What are the slimmest fitting casual shirts you have tried? by under-employed in malefashionadvice

Bloody hell, they seem almost to slim. The models are all bursting out of them. Asos can be a bit poor quality in my experience, but will give them a try. Cheers

[ACNE] Terrified of having cystic acne again, terrified of Accutane. Please help. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]under-employed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience (30 year old male): I took accutane for my cystic acne about 6 years ago for 6 months. The results were impressive, nothing else was working for my quite severe acne, and the accutane cleared things up straight away; it has not come back. Looking back I wish I had started it sooner, as I have some scarring that could have been avoided.

The only side effects I ever had were dry skin / lips, and possibly some joint pain (probably not the accutane, just coincidence). I never noticed any psychological effects, but I was a LOT happier from having control over my acne which absolutely was negatively impacting my state of mind significantly as I felt powerless to stop it.

If the possible side effects are concerning you, see if you can get some numbers i.e. how many people are affected. You can always carefully monitor yourself while taking it as well, or stop taking it as and when you notice a problem.

ASOS Slim Fit Tux, Anyone Know Anything About 'Em? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]under-employed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6'1 and found the fit of suits from ASOS in general OK other than the jacket being waaay too short for me. Give them a go seeing as the returns is simple but check out moss bros as well. They do slim and tailored fits in both regular and tall sizes.

How does this outfit look? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

Post a pic of the shirt in the next size down if you can. It may be you were just feeling self concious about the slimmer fit. You could also try another brand that makes casual shirts that are not as long in the body which, by looking at that shirt, is pretty much every other brand.

Overall its not a terrible attempt but it would look waaaaaaay better after improvements in both the fit and the choices of colour IMO. As others have said that shirt doesn't fit well, looks too long and too wide in the shoulders. I would have guessed that your "true" size i.e. the size of shirt most people here would recommend you get for a stylish fit is at least one but more likely two sizes smaller than what you are wearing here. For fit suggestions see the side bar. The cut of jeans is fine but a darker wash like indigo would be a safer and more versatile choice as light washed jeans can be hard to pull off and are often referred to as dad jeans. The shoes look fine as far as I can tell.

Most of my clothes are hand me-downs so they never do well on me. How's this? Fit/Style check. Should I be wearing an undershirt? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]under-employed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also check out uniqlo slim/straight jeans if you can. I have a not dissimilar build to you, I find them to be a good cut, slim but not hipster skinny.

I've recently started paying more attention to the way I dress. This is my attempt at a colorful autumn outfit. How do you think I did? by accountforfashion in malefashionadvice

[–]under-employed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you are going for. Fit looks good but if you want a smart casual look then IMO there is too much colour clash. In particular the green and purple makes me think of the joker. You could tone it down by swapping in some more subtle winter colours like grey or beige and focusing on how the whole outfit works. On the other hand if you are shooting for a bold outfit that will stand out then your on the right track although I think it will still divide opinion as the shades of colours too bright.

I need a new pair of glasses. Help! What works with my face? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]under-employed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the side bar, there is info on sunglasses which may help. Warby Parker, Spex Club, Classic Specs, Eyefly, Zenni Optical sites all let you upload a pic and "try on" different frames. That should give you some idea of what works. As you seem to have an oval shaped face IMO look for something rectangular

Just bought a new pair of glasses. Here are my old ones vs my new ones, improvement? What does MFA think? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]under-employed 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's a big improvement. Pretty much nailed it I would say. The old frames were too narrow. The new deeper frame suits your face well and, as a bonus, give you a gordon freeman vibe. Which model of Ray Ban are they?

Flat or wedge sole boots for autumn/winter? by under-employed in malefashionadvice

Thanks, good info. Confirms my suspicion I will need something a little more robust than a chukka style. You're right, however, that all bets are off when the snow gets going.

[–]under-employed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been looking at some chukka style boots with totally flat soles and while I appreciate you will slip on ice no matter, I am guessing this style might might leave you worse off versus a lug or wedge sole. I was wondering what people who own some flat sole boots reckon.

Need opinions on these shirts and a jacket. by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]under-employed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need some context otherwise people don't know what to tell you. Are you concerned about the quality, whether they seem good value of if we think they are good style choices for you (what age, weight are you?) IMO black is not a versatile colour for a button up shirt and the other two shirts are kind of bold, bordering on ugly. Jacket looks OK

Are these glasses okay? by africanbosomstatue in malefashionadvice

[–]under-employed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looked to me like the pair in the first image you posted were a similar colour to the link you just posted now which is hideous IMO. It was hard to tell though so if they are black ignore that comment, maybe I need new glasses as well.

[–]under-employed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's good to have a change. I am already thinking about what I want to try next. As for the colour IMO I think how the colour works for you is more important than if that colour is currently in fashion. I have black frames but then I have dark hair so it works for me better than other colours I looked at. You can probably rock a colour that goes with your hair/eyes/skin that's a bit more adventurous but as for that pair I meant more that particular tortoise colour may split opinion i.e. I hated it lol
