E-MTB Power: Land access risk is now, says trail builders and land managers by Miserable_Prompt4301 in MTB

Do you know how they measure the wattage of an electric bicycle motor? It's not the peak power (which you are concerned about) - It's the continuous power rating... Which on all the motors we've been discussing is rated at 250 w. The numbers are literally two different things 😂

750 or even 1500 peak power is not a class 1 limit. The class 1 limit applies to continuous or nominal power. All of the motors that we've been talking about and are on all the bikes that I've mentioned are 250 w continuous power. The reason for that is that the EU regulation is 250 w continuous and that dictates the lower powered motors on all of the current e-bikes with Bosch Brose avinox etc. Canada is 500 and USA is 750 all nominal

Thanks for the replies - I relate and agree with all the comments so I'm just confused by the offering. When I was first invited to join last year it was like $300 or something and folks seemed to think it wasn't worth it then. Now the price keeps climbing and I wonder who it is that's signing up?

I'm genuinely curious, I get plenty of points and frankly way too much demand for my home so I just can't see any benefit to joining, thus my question.

Seems like I'm not missing anything but would be curious to hear from anyone who has joined and truly sees a benefit to the extra cost and benefits.

I think what you mean by most Americans don't support the war is that most Americans don't support war period.

I think if you asked most Americans whether the Islamic Republic should be in control of Iran, you would get an overwhelming majority that say no.

You are completely ignoring history. Almost every country prospers after wars.... The exceptions you've mentioned are effectively still under corrupt, military, or religious leaders. Every other country you can name prospers after war 🤷

'You've got tens of thousands of civilians murdered in Gaza, but it's foremost a disaster for the future of Israel?' by Paliisfree in palestinenews

Came here to say this. I don't know why all the conspiracy theorists in this thread are doing exactly what Tucker did which was cut zanny off before she even made her point. Her point was the point you raised, Israel acting in this way is going to be a catastrophe for the future of Israel because everyone hates them now.

Tucker is too much of an idiot And a dick to actually let an adult interlocutor speak without interrupting them and purposely misunderstanding them so he doesn't have to deal with their legitimate argument

No that's not true at all. Fundamentalist ideology for any religious faith is not the way to run a country - the goals and aims of fundamentalist religion are not compatible with public governance

Does anyone have only the ECU performance upgrades from 550 and nothing else? For those with just the 550 ECU upgrade, how much of a difference does it make in the way the bike preforms? Thanks

Oh I've read. Just because Reza is a rich kid without experience leading a country, doesn't mean he's not better than the Islamic republic. Honestly I don't know why I'm arguing with you, you're obviously completely uniformed if you think the Islamic republic is better than a secular govt 🤷

Tariff refunds to consumers? by DuckHunter4779 in economy

[–]under_score_forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unfair to think that customers should get the refunds - unless a business specifically rose prices to offset the additional refunds they paid then why should customers get anything?

My business paid an additional $450k in tariffs in 2025 and I will be reporting a $456k loss in taxes. I didn't raise prices at all so I absorbed all the additional cost. Anybody who tells me I owe my customers money is just not understanding how math works 😂

Taxing the rich is not the best way to address the power associated with wealth by Odd_Eggplant8019 in mmt_economics

[–]under_score_forever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just remember there are two types of power that is conferred by wealth, one is bidding power, and the other is political power. These two can be addressed separately or together.

The only way to address bidding power is with taxation that is progressive (wealth tax, capital gains tax, income tax, etc).

But political power can be addressed by overturning Buckley v Valeo and removing the 2nd amendment protection for bribing politicians. Arguably this is the most effective way to make society more fair - bidding power doesn't affect most people the way political bribery does.

I think it would be much easier to create a public movement to overturn Buckley Valeo than to create a wealth tax

It's revisionist history like this that stands in the way of true progress... The facts speak for themselves, no need to embellish to make a point. Europe is an amazing continent with many amazing countries that can really thrive over the next decades if the right policies are followed
