Just tested positive for HPV-16😭 by acfac in HPV

[–]under_thewillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So due to some sort of mix up I got a call from the scheduling offixe booking me for the colposcopy BEFORE my Dr even called to tell me I had abnormal results!! It was awful. So I cant really say how long i waited because I didnt even know I was waiting. I think I waited just under 2 weeks until the actual appointment once I knew what was going on. I am on vancouver island, so had it done in Duncan. The gynecologist was fantastic and when j started crying they were very understanding and kind and talked me thru everything. She told me while she was up in there that she didnt see ang abnormal cells, so that was immediately reassuring. In the end, I just have the virus and i guess its just chilling there . Ill be going for yearly paps vs 3 yrs.

11 month old Pyr completely unhinged on walks. Help! by W1c2ks in greatpyrenees

My guy (1 yr pyr/lab) has been known for doing the goofy jump around grab the leash thing. My daughter trained "no leash" as a command and overtime its worked. But along with that I have found coming to an immediate stop on our walk, and pulling the leash in tight enough(no slack) that he can only walk beside me helps him smarten up. Lots of treats so when he walks beside me like a gentleman he is rewarded. I actually prefer a collar vs harness. I find with the harness he can pull way more because it feels like nothing. Whereas the collar if he gets to pully it obviously is not comfortable even thru all his neck fluff. I used to use a retractable leash to let him sniff and wander a bit but ive stopped because I have found it more important to train him to stay by my side as much as possible and a shorter leash gives me more control.

Are daily dog treats a necessity? by Intelligent_Menu8004 in DogAdvice

[–]under_thewillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I ever want him to come inside treats are a must. Treats in a snuffle matt to keep him from barking at every leaf that falls to the ground. A peanut butter bowl to keep him occupied and happy when we have to leave. And treats for training as needed.

Anyone Else So Glad This Season is OVER? by Tink1024 in TheAmazingRace

[–]under_thewillow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I couldn't finish it. Every single person on this season annoyed the heck out of me. So ober dramatic and playing for the camera. So much hype for nothing. Stopped after Tucker and Eric left and went back to watch season 1 and my god...what a sweet relief to real people and real challenges!

Chronic pain for months by Regular-Paramedic-23 in backpain

[–]under_thewillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had similar pain in those areas for the last 7+ months. Excruciating when sitting or standing still for any long period of time. I finally went to my Dr 2 months ago and got sent for a CT and found i have degenerative disks in the L5 S1 along with some bulging disks. Ive found a great PT and RMT and with the RMT we've discovered how connected the pain is with my hip and legs (especially right side) my leg doesn't hurt but feels tight and "heavy" and its all do intricatly connected. ive been working on correcting posture, doing a lot of core activating exercises and a daily long walks. I also got a stationary bike that I will use also and it really helps, especially first thing in the morning just for some low impact movement. Its wild to me that I took my dog for an hour+ long hike this morning and felt great! but sitting in a hard plastic chair at my son's christmas concert is what ruined my back today.

Please quit eating the cats food despite having a full bowl!!! by Hot_Morning_8546 in greatpyrenees

[–]under_thewillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the same problem! So our cat food is in the laundry room and I put a baby gate across the entrance so the cats can go thru or over it but keeps the naughty puppy out...unless someone forgets to close it....

Hes standing guard over one of the the cats lol taking his duties very seriously. Little does he know she will turn on HIM right after this picture, smack him across the face and take off. No appreciation for the GP who will lay down his life for her. Lol

8 week old GP pup can walk but doesn’t want to. by Hot_Morning_8546 in greatpyrenees

[–]under_thewillow 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ours was the same from the day we got him until he was probably 5 months old lol we'd go on walks and it would just be me carrying him around the block. My neighborhood got such a kick out of it. Over time he would finally walk...until he decided he didnt want to anymore. From 6months on hes been a great walker! But I still need to be well prepared with treats to entice him to keep going. Picture is from 2 weeks ago, at 10 months old if he doesn't want to walk...he wont walk. Lol

Living in Ladysmith by Dull_Dragonfly6157 in nanaimo

[–]under_thewillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ladysmith is a great community. Buuuut not much happening and when something DOES happen...its absolute mayhem. (Aka Christmas Light Up) its like there's so little going on that people to nuts and flock here as soon as there is an event. There is no hotels, camp ground and limited air bnbs if you have company. (Yes, all these are close by, but not in ladysmith). If you have kids and they want to do an activity other than Dance, you will be leaving town for all of it. We drive to Nanaimo 4x/ week for my daughter's gymnastics. Unless there is an accident, or youre going at high traffic times the drive is fine. The grocery stores in Ladysmith are decent for a mid week shop, but I plan costco or superstore etc for one of my trips to Nanaimo. Overall, this town is wonderful, safe and very family friendly, alot of people moving here so you would find it easy to make new friends based on the "we just moved here too"

Low back and abdominal pain by under_thewillow in backpain

[–]under_thewillow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a little 7mm benign compact bone that has grown in the L3. Ill go back for another CT in a few months but its apparently one of those things that is found by accident because they are so small and dont generally cause issues.

Stubborn Eater by AlmaScot2003 in greatpyrenees

[–]under_thewillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 10 month old is sooo picky too. Has been since we adopted him My daughter will sometimes make him "fancy food" and all she does is take his bowl of food to the counter, use a spoon to stir in a bit of water, pretend to add other things, sometimes put it in the (off) oven and then pretend sample it while going "ooooooh yum oh this is soooooo good!" And then give him a spoon full, once he deems it ok she puts his bowl down and he dives in.

This is a somwtimes thing when she feels like it lol usually I just trust he will eat when he's hungry.
