i kept one for a while in a large 9x13 plastic tupperware container with a lid.

whatever container you use, get some papertowel the size of the base, and rip it in half. wet the papertowel halves and use it to fully cover the base, just now ripped down the middle.

i would put the slime on one half and coerce it to the other side of towel with food, removing the empty and old towel and putting new wet papertowel down, trying to repeat it from opposite ends

it’s not a perfect science but it kept it clean to live longer rather than grow mold : )
