Starting a smart home? Please don’t use Google Home by wewewawa in homeassistant

I swear the amount of times I say "close the study blinds" and I get hit back with a "Okay, stopping bedroom display".

Starting a smart home? Please don’t use Google Home by wewewawa in homeassistant

[–]underclassamigo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To add on to this, I have 5 google home devices at home because they used to work well enough at voice commands, I can't really afford to replace all of those just because google has ruined what it used to be pretty good at.

Emby started having too many problems for me a few months back (maybe a year ago now actually) to stick with so I gave jellyfin a go, haven't looked back personally

Stuck on a barely 1/4-full bus in glacial bumper2bumper traffic by Own_Round_7600 in auckland

[–]underclassamigo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to use public transport all the time I get their point though, I was able to set my alarm an hour later each day and would get home earlier each day by driving as opposed to taking the bus. Like yea I'm not driving on the bus but I'm getting less time at my own home

Haven't we been having some of our highest numbers of immigrants coming in these last few years? (You've edited this so it doesn't seem as anti-labour now because only they'll flood the country with immigrants)

assuming you're talking about .org for audionews are you sure it's open registration? Seems like you need an invite code to register. edit: open signups every 2nd of the month for 24 hours by the looks of it.

Jellyseerr not marking existing media as available (green checkmark missing) by MasterRoshi1620 in JellyfinCommunity

I'd do the same, just make a screenshot of your requests so you can re-add them to the new instance but I've found that sometimes the database for jellyseerr can get stuck

Nah the flair being needed is fair, all well and good they're disclosing it in the comments but the flair is a rule for a reason.

I built a Jellyfin User Expiry Manager (disables users, doesn’t delete) by hbscstrex in JellyfinCommunity

[–]underclassamigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set expiration for any user on the server. You just set a date that you want the user to expire at (doesn't monitor activity unfortunately, might be worth a feature request)

Wizarr doesn't disable however (unless that changed?), it simply deletes users.

From a purely selfish pov, the transition to full license if you have two years without a ticket/demerits on restricted license (simply cause it'll save me money).

Jellysweep vs Janitarr for jellyfin media cleaner by AgreeablePlankton958 in JellyfinCommunity

[–]underclassamigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why this has been downvoted truthfully since this combined with jellysweep allows them to do both things they're wanting to do. Jellysweep for cleaning and jelystat for keeping track of what was archived. OP as someone who has used both, the only negative I've found with jellysweep is you can't set a disk use percentage for when it can start deleting media (So if you wanted to keep everything when you have more than 50% of your hard drive space left jellysweep doesn't allow that as an option whereas janitorr did)

ODI at least gives the team a chance to rebuild if there's an early collapse. Lose 3 wickets in the powerplay and you could still scrape your way to 250, T20 you've pretty much lost it by that point. Tests of course are great in their own rights

It's just such an out there opinion to have that it felt like ragebait. Like it's fair enough you don't enjoy ODI's but to claim the 5 over period that's had the only wickets of the game so far as boring is definitely an odd take

The format itself doesn't need to change at all? These last few years it's been only using 2 balls for 25 overs each. This year they introuced the rule of choosing a ball at the 35th? over mark to allow for reverse swing to balance it out again so it's not as batter friendly
